G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Lind for Polanco or Meadows
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Why don't the Jays just ask for Gerrit Cole while were at it? I doubt guys like Polanco, Meadows or Hanson would be moved for Lind. Neil Walker would be an interesting name.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I would trade him for Meadows in split-second. I don't care if Lind ends up posting 36 WAR in one season and Meadows ends up as a bust, the whole "what-could-been" thing with guys that slip away or get ninja'd like Syndergaard, Giolito and Meadows bothers the f*** out of me, it really pecks at my OCD. I dunno, I would feel pretty s***** if we gave away a 36 war guy for a bust.

His connections to Pittsburgh run quite deep. Legend has it Walker's father was supposed to be on Roberto Clemente's fatal flight and Clemente told him not to bother. Hanson would actually be a more realistic target given the team context.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Trade him for Snider back Snider is a free agent.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Didn't MLBTR post yesterday that Hanson was available for nothing? I haven't slept all night though so I could be fabricating this completely.
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I haven't slept all night You too?
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Shiiiiiiiiit. I'm tired as f*** though.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Even if they would trade Meadows for Lind (which I don't think they would), Meadows can't be moved til June 2014 right?

Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 ptbnl By the way I love that quote in your signature.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I don't think we can afford to give up Lind right now. He's on a decent contract and showed potential last year to actually reach his potential. If the package is good, sure, but he's fairly valuable to us right now.
JugglingPitches Verified Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I think Lind had a decent year. As long as you keep him away from lefties he's not terrible and I thought made good strides. Definitely would be nice to upgrade him...mind you we have EE that looked great at 1B too so we could also just get a good DH. He is expendable for sure.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 By the way I love that quote in your signature. It's a hypothesis that could be reality next season.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Who knows..maybe next year will be the year Adam Lind is finally benched against all lefties and puts up an OPS over .900 again
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Work stress getting to you bud I'd rather have JPA in a Bluejays uniform catching every single one of Dickey's starts next year than have you around here.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I'd rather have JPA in a Bluejays uniform catching every single one of Dickey's starts next year than have you around here. Just ignore him. I only see him on the board when people quote him
Maine Jays Verified Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Getting rid of Lind means Cabrera could DH full time and we won't have to watch balls that a fourth grade girl could catch falling just out of range of Melky.

IMO you could get Cole + Polanco + Meadows but it'd cost you Edwin.

Agree Rasmus LF Gose CF Bautista RF Pillar 4th OF Melky DH If you can get something decent for Lind Edited December 4, 2013 by G-Snarls

Way better then the last site. Yea's its my favourite thing about this site. Remember that DH12 guy? I havent seen him post once since this site opended
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 (edited) Agree Rasmus LF Gose CF Bautista RF Pillar 4th OF Melky DH If you can get something decent for Lind I personally would put Bautista in RF. Not sure on the 2 DH rule. I like a lot of the Pirates prospects, and would trade Lind for the right one in a heart beat. Edited December 4, 2013 by G-Snarls
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 (edited) Agree Rasmus LF Gose CF Bautista RF Pillar 4th OF Melky DH If you can get something decent for Lind Does Rasmus extend knowing that he's moving to LF? Also, I'm still not convinced Gose is a starter in this league. Edited December 4, 2013 by G-Snarls
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 It's a hypothesis that could be reality next season. Remember when we all extrapolated Lawrie's 2.5 WAR in 2011 to 10.0 WAR 2012.
Caper Verified Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Snider is a free agent. Are you sure?
mitchf Verified Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Hold on a minute, the name Austin Meadows was brought up in this thread? The guy who the Pirates watched slash .316/.423/.554 in his first 177 bats with the organization? Yeah um, let's not be THOSE kinds of fans.
