"B)" too. A top 10 catcher is also a top 50 catcher... if you thought Arencibia was the best catcher in history, you'd also think he's a top 50 current catcher. It's an empty statement.

 

Only reason I said C) was wrong because that would mean he's also a top 10 catcher. I think he actually mean't "None of the above" which would mean he's out of the top 50 in MLB right now.

As we get closer to spring training, and if we make any significant moves, we're going to be having new members joining.

Some of the members are going to be new to the Jays, some might not see the game differently than others, and have a different opinion.

We want this board to grow, and in order to grow we have to welcome new members, whether they've been a fan for 10 years, or 10 days.

What we don't need is someone jumping all over them if they make a bad post, suggestion, question, proposal, etc... then another 20

guy here jumping in on it. It's happened before, it makes the board look like s***, it makes it look like this is a small gang of stuck up snobs

that think they know everything. And yes, I've been the captain of the ******* boat before, so I do know it can be frustrating.

But as I mentioned, we want this board to grow. We want there to be new posts, new discussions, and new ideas. But if everyone jumps

down the throat of someone with a different opinion, new members will probably just leave and never come back.

 

We have an incredibily intelligent fanbase here, I'm willing to bet there maybe one or two teams that know the game inside and out, from

the minors to the majors like we do here, but it can always be bigger.

 

Our goal is to have this the biggest and best Jays board, period. Don't give people a reason to go back to that piece of garbage MLB board.

The internet is not too much different than real life. You associate yourself with people that have similar interests. However, sometimes we make a first impression and don't always get to know what a person is really like. I try not to judge a new poster from their initial posts but their follow-up responses (call it a vetrin move). I've gotten past the assumption that every new poster is a troll from the old board and we know who most of the trolls are now (see above for most).

 

On the other hand with internet filtering we are mostly getting items with similar interests anyway, life is boring without differing viewpoints. So I would love to debate an intelligent person who loves AA, unfortunately few of those still exist.

Last night I was out with some people and the topic turned to the Jays. The conversation was just so idiotic I couldn't even participate. That group involves chicks too, and they are even worse than the guys. Gives me new appreciation for this place, and some insight into how AA's mind works, if his goal is to put asses in seats (at least in the short term) instead of building a winning club. Please don't subject this place to allowing those types of fans too much freedom.
