I should also add while she had no clue what most of the stats like xK%, xBB%s and xHR/FB were she still recognized as a UofT econ major that he was a brilliant baseball mind so that was pretty cool.

O-Swing%, Z-Swing% and Swing% describe how often the pitcher induces a swing on pitches outside the strike zone, inside the strike zone, and in general. O-Contact%, Z-Contact% and Contact% do the same for the batter making contact.

It's easy to calculate while watching a game and, being more granular, is more accurate than regular Game Score.

 

Pitch Outcome Game Score

Start with 50 points.

Add 4 points for each swinging strike (including foul tips)

Add 1 point for each called or fouled strike

Subtract 1 point for each ball

Subtract 2 points for each ball put in play
