I realize nobody believed the Dickey trade, I didn't believe it myself. Even with that said I don't believe there's a chance in hell AA would do that deal.

I really don't like people altering quotes and keeping the username attached. If you want to alter someone's quote fine, but at least remove the username.

Aaron Sanchez for Gordon Beckham would fit right in line with what Alex seems to want to do with this baseball team.

"We loved Stroman, but second base has been a bit of a weak spot for us, and we couldn't pass on the opportunity to add a guy in Gordon who has the potential to be a 20 HR and 80 RBI guy. Two seasons ago he had 16 homers and we felt that adding that power at 2B would make us a stronger team, so we felt giving up an arm like Marcus was well worth it. This is a guy who has been around winners his whole life. From Ozzie to Konerko to Buehrle and so forth, we feel he has been instructed to play the game the right way and we see tremendous value in that. This is also a guy who was a top 50 prospect in baseball a few years back, so we feel there is still some considerable upside left in him to be untapped into. When we found out he was available, we went to Beest, and without hesitation he told us to do it. That's the commitment we have from ownership - we identified a piece that we needed and had the means to go out and get it."

You forgot the hard throwing relief pitcher in that deal.

Hutchison for Carter Capps will likely go down a couple weeks later.

I'd lose my s*** if we gave up AJ for him. He's a f***ing bust.

To be honest I don't see Jimenez providing much more value. Maybe it is just me being pessimistic because every catcher that comes through are system is s***.

You can add this saying in about every sentence for a better representation.

Who wrote this article leaffie, it's just more conjecture coming out of Chicago and these writers are riding the coat-tails of the original leak. Baseball Blasphemy!! :P

The only second basemen I would consider trading Stroman for are Kendrick 2.7WAR (ANA) or Neil Walker 2.7 WAR (PIT).

Apparently the Rangers are looking to salary dump Kinsler. He shouldn't cost Stroman given his salary (16mm this year and next) but is worth 2.5 WAR in an average year. Maybe something around one of our excess starters or relievers. I wonder if they'd be interested in Drabek as a reclamation project.

Our biggest need after number 1 pitcher though should be catcher. The Brewers need prospects desperately and aren't going anywhere for a few years. I would consider Stroman for Lucroy 3.6 WAR. One of the most underrated catchers in baseball offensively and defensively.

If not sign Carlos Ruiz (averages about 2.5 WAR).

Walker ain't going anywhere imo. I wouldn't mind that though.

We'd need a lot more than Drabek.

"our whole f***ing team is a 2 year stopgap so why not Ruiz"

My thoughts in bold.

ITT: Posters casually pull a pre-prime ace into a trade negotiation for a non-tender candidate.

Sale has a better K%, BB%, GB% and vFB than Clayton Kershaw. And he's a year younger. But of course we can get him thrown in for our 5'9 PED user and A+ starter who's never thrown 100 IP in a season and has a career 4.7 BB/9.

I am loving these realistic AA ramblings. God does that guy ramble, though I guess he has to since he has no idea what he's doing.

To think that at one point we could have simply traded Deck McGuire for him.
