Now third-lowest in AL history and four points off the record.

Amazing

Best stat of the year

How could possibly, I mean even remotely THINK of keeping him on this team?!?!?

Oh my god I can't handle any more of this guy. Let him finish the year on the team and then get him the hell out of here ASAP

Something to look forward too: Arencibia fans breaking down after he gets released

They'll probably call the Jays stupid for letting him go.

Wrc+ down from 88 last year, to 62 this year. A 62 wRC+ as a f***ing catcher, and there's writers out there who believe in the bat. Like f*** off already. I can tolerate the NHL/NFL airheads on air because I dont really know much about the games and there's so much that goes on..especially in football that its hard to look at basis stats.

But for baseball theres not a single reason why he shouldnt be trashed by every credible writer out there.

The Jays'll lose about half their female fans at that moment, but oh well.

It would be one thing if he just sucked, but I think his victim complex is actually a mental disorder. This quote is unbelievable to me. He still can't admit that his performance has been unacceptable.

“No chance – I could care less about what anyone thinks who doesn’t make a decision,” the embattled Toronto Blue Jays catcher says in an interview with sportsnet.ca. “I’m not going to make everyone happy, but ask people around baseball. Fans don’t write the lineup, I’ll tell you that. The ones that are critical are the ones that most of the time never played and don’t really understand it."

Yep the fact that we weren't all born 6'2 with a sturdy athletic body and can't hit a 90 mph fb apparently means that we can't judge who can't either. A former player has to join a major network and embrace saber stats and use them to point out the flaws in traditional stats. Jeter joining ESPN, boasting about the importance of obp and bashing stuff like RBIs and is my version of a wet dream. Even guys like davidhi are becoming unbearable.

Vernon Wells was right down there in 2011 too

My wife thinks Dustin McGowan is the best looking Blue Jay this year

Was surprised she picked him

Posted

She also likes DeRosa and thinks Moises Sierra is "cute"

But you can't have all your handsomeness in the bullpen and backup positions

They're gonna have to do something

My ex saw that Rogers commercial with Brett Lawrie walking into the dry cleaner's and as soon as he walks in it was love at first sight lol. D-Mac is an odd choice though.

Mine also thinks Arencibia is just OK looking, and the only thing she likes about Lawrie is his arms and tats

Like most, she thinks poor Colby is the ugliest MF in sports

My dentist used to live in his condo building and would bump into him and thinks he's easily one of the ugliest guys on earth. Thinks Arencibia's a frickin' dreamboat though.

Can't wait to see SportsBunny or Hope Law or whoever those morons were's reactions when JPA gets released.

Anyone think a little bit of this might be aimed at JP? Or just the team in general?

Posted
no lol

I don't know wtf happened to bautistas twitter account but it seems to me that all he tweets now a days is inspirational quotes

Wishful thinking on my part

Bautista being down on JP would help the team get rid of him

But yeah he just spews a lot of general "positive message" stuff. Same as Reyes except his feel more genuine somehow.

I like it! He probably does it to ward off the "Bautista's not a winner!" folks. Best twitterer on the team.

On the big league squad, yes

Best Twitter guy in the organization is Marcus Stroman, by a mile

Reyes is a clubhouse cancer, that's how.

And yes, Stroman is the best twitterer in the org. Followed by Justin Jackson.

and exactly how did you come to the conclusion reyes is a clubhouse cancer.....

back to topic...AA may have given Lind a lot of rope, but he at least had some level of success at the mlb level. He did have some injuries and eventually he was sent down...and since coming back has produced at a high level for a year and a half now...

JPA has never produced at a high level. He does the same thing over and over and over again. When there are runners at 2nd and 3rd and you're down by one you don't need to hit a home run....the guy never cuts down his swing, never focuses on moving the runner over. I have no stats to back this up, but from watching games JPA must have faced more balls out of the stikezone than any hitter in the mlb...especially in hitters counts. 2 and 0 counts...he rarely saw a ball in the strikezone after april because pitchers learned he was swinging at everything.

He should be watching non stop film of his at bats in the offseason and film of hitters who actually understand the game. Even bautista who has a long free swing will at times situationally cut down his swing or try and hit it to the right side. He should be told he's starting the season in the minors until he learns to develop a better approach at the plate

JPA is delusional..and he keeps doing the same thing over and over...it's not going to get any better until he changes.

Wow, I remember the first 3-4 weeks he and Rajai were our only good hitters.

All blame for Arencibia playing every day should be directed towards AA. AA put himself in this position by trading away the organization's depth at C in the last 14 months and thus all but assuring JPA's job. AA should also be blamed if in fact JPA has been playing hurt since he gave his manager no alternative.

I didn't read the article because I've stopped reading much about the Blue Jays since most of what's written is garbage and I haven't seen a single media-type call out the organization (not just AA) for the trades they made, so I doubt Davidi is questioning why JPA is still the starting catcher. I certainly won't waste my time on that, I have plenty of other things to waste my time on.

I've never seen an athlete get away with running his mouth as much as this clown does while turning in literally one of the worst seasons in the history of the game. This guy is going to get the Mendoza Line renamed after him at this rate.

It should forever be called, in Toronto, the Arencibia line. Good idea.

No one in their right mind should blame Arencibia for not being very good at baseball. Athletes can only play up to their skill sets. Everyone is blaming him though for running his mouth and acting like a f***ing baboon.
