connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 I think Fields is a lot better than he gets credit for. Now they have made a very comfy environment for Williams/Maye/Daniels to come in and succeed right away with DJ Moore and Keenan Allen, D'Andre Swift and Gerald Everett, behind a pretty decent OL. Fields got kind of a raw deal, but unfortunately he didn't end up anywhere better. Also, example of team trading a young QB and regretting it? Cleveland Browns with Baker Mayfield, probably. It is rare, though. Baker is kind of weird one to determine regret. Was traded and couldn’t even be the starter on a bad team. Couldnt establish himself as a good backup of another. We’ll see if last season was legit. He could settle into a Cousins like career. I guess that’s best scenario

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 Yeah Chicago probably could’ve moved down to say #2 or #3 for either Washington and NE if they wanted to pay for Williams. Then take Marvin Harrison, supposedly generational, sure he won’t make it past 4. Then they have #9 was one of the good OL that should be there. Guess they just didn’t believe though. Plus he’d be looking for mega deal anyway after one good year. They can reset now. Maybe Williams really is the bees knees too

Ah, yeah with that extra wrinkle in the equation, yes, currently it’s looking like a bad org direction they took.

Maybe Williams really is the bees knees too Williams seems a bit up his own ass, though, and I wouldn't want that trait in a QB. Kinda like Kyler Murray and his "I don't need to watch film" attitude. Also the fact that it came out he wanted an ownership stake in whichever team drafted him. f*** off dude. I also don't really think MHJ is so far separated from a Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze that he'd warrant going that high. If you wanna go WR, I'd just drop down to 5 or 6.

Idk enough I guess but the bit I read was MHJ was at another level. Other times skilled WR might go in the Top 10 and they end up being just guys,

I think, is scaring teams off. Go ahead and let him drop then, lol. If he's there at like...10 Brandon Beane better do everything in his power to trade up Also, Godspeed, friend. I see the board gestapo got you. Probably for having an opinion that was too correct or something.

Now it’s like I’ve been here 20 years, I can take a few days off. Most mods are lefties but reasonably so, so they can respect I don’t leave the grey at worst. There’s just one ultra progressive that’ll just choose to reach for things with me on occasion. All good. And “lefty and ultra progressive” isn’t talking about politics. It’s a simply a description of ideology.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Bills move Diggs for the #60 pick (2nd round). I think he's declining, but this is a bold move for the Bills.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 Don’t know the whole situation, but there sure were always a lot articles about him pouting about something. Could’ve just been a mutual thing.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 Dumn. What's sad is this doesn't open up any cap space for the Bills this year (I think it actually costs them more?). I think his run as a top WR are about the run out though. Seems the Bills know this setup isn't working. They need to retool.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 What's sad is this doesn't open up any cap space for the Bills this year (I think it actually costs them more?). I think his run as a top WR are about the run out though. Seems the Bills know this setup isn't working. They need to retool. The details are Minnesota's 2nd in 2025 (important, because Minnesota will likely stink) for Diggs, a 6th this year and a 5th next year. The dead cap hit will reduce the Bills' available cap by a little over 3 million. It's pretty clear by now that Diggs was a bit of a cancer who constantly berated Allen. Tim Graham shared a story about how after the first game against the Jets, where Allen played terribly, teammates were trying to cheer him up, then Diggs came, said something and Josh yelled "It's one f***ing game!" This was also the first game played after the playoff loss to the Bengals where Diggs was seen on the sideline yelling "what's your excuse now, Josh?" So the guy was such an odorous cancer that the Bills would rather take the largest dead cap hit in history for a non-QB than have 3 million more to use and still have Diggs. Viking fans told us. But I guess this has been brewing all along. When Poyer, Morse, Davis left, players were outwardly and publicly wishing them well. Very little of that for Diggs. So yeah. It's a shame. But if he's not happy on a team that is consistently the biggest threat to the Chiefs every year, playing with the most talented QB in the NFL, I don't know where he'll be happy. Sure won't be with Houston, splitting targets with Nico Collins. He's their problem now.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 Yeah - it's pretty obvious that Diggs is a POS. I hope karma knocks him out very soon.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 Yeah - it's pretty obvious that Diggs is a POS. I hope karma knocks him out very soon. I wouldn't go that far...POS is like a wife beater or something. I'd say he's a dickhead. He also apparently said he didn't think the Bills could beat the Chiefs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glU_QXe5iE8?si=s3XOVYqBmyJxHqIe Hmmm...I wonder why?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 Bring on the draft! I don't even love the NFL these days, but f*** me - drafts are so much fun.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 Jordan Morgan, bleh... Yeah - OL is never very exciting, especially since he isn't a top pick who fell to them or anything. Pack like his versatility. I thought Cooper DeJean may have been the play there - although they may have a shot to land him in Round 2 (which would be a huge steal). I think they're looking at DB and LB today. DB DeJean TJ Tampa Nubin LB Payton Wilson Edgerrin Cooper I do wonder if they'd consider grabbing Jer'Zhan Newton at 41 if he's still there (and DeJean is gone). They could use another DL. 41 - Newton 58 - Hicks/Nubin/Bishop or Wilson/Cooper 88 - Cole Bishop (if the go LB at 58) Jaylen Wright (RB) could also be a target in Round 3 as "lightning" guy to pair with Jacobs (the thunder)
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2024 Posted April 27, 2024 Man - I worry the Packer may regret passing on DeJean, but I like Cooper and Bullard in the 2nd round. Most ranked them as the top LB and S available - positions we needed badly. MarShawn Lloyd feels like a luxury pick and Ty'Ron Hopper seems like a reach in the 3rd round. Could have taken a chance on Payton Wilson (electric, but injury prone). I would have liked to see TJ Tampa picked to give us better depth on the corner. He's still there - maybe he falls. Tanor Bortolini could be another interior OL the Pack may target in Round 4. Incredible athlete, which the Pack love on the line. I thought the Bills might land Troy Franklin too....he could be a steal. I saw some project him in the late 1st/early 2nd
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2024 Posted April 27, 2024 Packers trade up and then go off the board with Evan Williams? Very odd. Hicks and TJ Tampa are both still there. I don't get it. The guy was projected to be a 6th rounder. I guess I should trust them after the drafts they've had the past couple of years, but seems odd right now.
