Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Unbelievable that fangraphs has Lawrie rated as a negative defender this year.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2013 Author Posted September 4, 2013 Uhh I'd don't know, you told me to stop. Stop what, watching the game? Did it make sense to leave DeRosa in to hit against the righty and then bring Goins in defensively?
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2013 Author Posted September 4, 2013 Stop sucking Goins cock You actually left the Vancouver playoff thread unmanned?
Convo Verified Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Its actually astonishing how bad JPA is. In his career he's now at -19.4 fielding runs, -5.7 uBR, an 82 wRC+, and allegedly awful framing. Dude has a 68 wRC+ this year. Just an awful, awful player. Wonder what the chance of him being our full-time catcher again next season is?
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2013 Author Posted September 4, 2013 They may still lose this one yet.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 He's probably the worst player to ever hit 20 HR... that might be an interesting list to make Ruben Sierra, 1993. According to Fangraphs at least. .233/.288 with 22 HR, 101 RBI, and 25 SB. -25 fielding runs! Worst 20 HR season ever. Worst 100 RBI season ever. Worst 25 SB season ever. Worst 20/20 season ever. -2.6 fWAR 1999 Dante Bichette: 34 HR, -2.1 fWAR (this is a f***ing insane statistical season. .379 wOBA and only a 100 wRC+, cuz Coors field.) 1990 Joe Carter: 20 HR, -2.0 fWAR
Convo Verified Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 IMO <50%. I don't think C will be addressed. I don't even think they're aware it's an issue. Rather unfortunate, hard to imagine this team being able to compete with all the sub par baseball skills JPA brings to the table (in particular to the pitching staff).
Convo Verified Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Rajai always thinks he's Babe Ruth after hitting a HR, ends up ruining his approach for days/weeks after
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Man that was a short swing by Eddie. Very pretty.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Lind is going to see nothing but lefties late in games the rest of the season with the expanded rosters.
Convo Verified Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Holy fack was that chick hot. She looked pissed though. BF not getting it done. Agreed.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Probably yes. Interesting fact, there are 34 pitchers(with minimum 30 PA) with a higher WAR than JPA, using nothing but their hitting and defense numbers.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 It'll be interesting to see Jeffress in the 9th. He was putting up big numbers in AAA.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I finally got some points....heck yeah sierra!
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Lots of points for the FHRC! Finally!!
Convo Verified Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Imagine Sierra had the brain and ambition of a player like Reyes, could really be something
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 It'll be interesting to see Jeffress in the 9th. He was putting up big numbers in AAA. Was thinking the same thing, but gibbons puts in Loup on back to back nights rather than going with a fresh arm...
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 It'll be interesting to see Jeffress in the 9th. He was putting up big numbers in AAA. Or maybe that'll have to wait.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Watch them score 10 runs. Predictable team being predictable.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
