The regular season is never a place "to see what he can do", for any player, ever, unless you're the Astros or Marlins.

We get it, you don't like Goins and you don't want him to get a chance. On the other hand I'll be cheering for Goins cuz he's on my favorite team and hoping he has a great year

I'd like to hear the FO come out with a rationale for expecting players like Goins and Sierra to outperform any reasonable expectations based on their minor league numbers. Something tangible that isn't "they played well down the stretch last year".

 

I wonder if AA even entertained a trade for a second baseman. If he talked to Seattle, I have a feeling they don't want to part with Franklin, for whatever AA was offering. They probably wanted to trade Ackley, and AA wasn't interested, and I don't blame him.

Goins should be able to put up similar or better than Ackley's career MLB numbers to date while providing better defense.
