GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Nice! Nolin makes the most sense since he's already on the 40-man. Stroman will probably be added though, won't he?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Oh wow, they're f***ing on the road this Saturday, would have loved to gone. At least they're playing the Astros. Whoever starts will probably no hit them lol.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 21, 2013 Author Posted August 21, 2013 Suddenly worried it will be Thad Webber or something and I look stupid for posting this
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I guess he'll be added soon regardless. Maybe they drop Mickey Storey? Stroman is focused on finishing his degree at Duke University in 2 weeks. Nolin debut 2,0
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I guess he'll be added soon regardless. Maybe they drop Mickey Storey? Yeah, that's plausible. I wouldn't put it past AA to DFA Sierra in a stupid small sample though. Hell, wouldn't be the worst thing, as we know what we have in him, and he's probably gone anyways. Only thing is we'd only have 3 OF lol.
theblujay Verified Member Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Please Stroman, it either way I'm pumped. Finally a reason to watch
flafson Verified Member Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Who was suppose to be on Saturday?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 21, 2013 Author Posted August 21, 2013 Who was suppose to be on Saturday? If they stuck with the current 5 only it would be back to Buerhle. The double header moved things up a day is the problem, so he would be going on 3 days rest.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 21, 2013 Author Posted August 21, 2013 A) Buehrle could probably go on 3 days rest multiple times and be fine. The guy is a horse and hasn't missed a start in like 6 seasons or something. But you don't risk anything when the season is shot. If you need a call up for a 6th starter, is it better to do it on the double header day??

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 I'm against this. I want to see Nolin get a few more starts at AAA. I'd also like to see Stroman finish the year at AAA and I want to see both of them start next year at AAA along with Drabek, Hutchison and Synderg....oh wait!
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 If you told me in March that the most exciting thing to look forward to in Blue Jays land this year, was a possible start by Stroman in late August, I would have laughed, and then possibly cried because nothing surprises me with this joke of a franchise Man this has been a brutal year... Can't remember the last time I DIDN'T say that
Howard Roark Verified Member Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 First was Rowdy Tellez and a Big Mac. This one is brenden Kalfus and a whopper. BK Whopper brah join the nation What's with the burgers? You some kind of perma-virgin fatass food-fetishist or something?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 What's with the burgers? You some kind of perma-virgin fatass food-fetishist or something? You'll have to visit the prospect forum for that...the Brendan kalfus thread pretty much explains it.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Why not just let Nolin start seeing as he's already on the f***ing 40-man and has had an option year burned. +1 it would be absolutely foolish to burn one of both Stroman's and Nolin's option years for spot starts.
Howard Roark Verified Member Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 You'll have to visit the prospect forum for that...the Brendan kalfus thread pretty much explains it. Or you could just, you know, tell me? =/ Scratch that, don't care enough. The Hamburger Troll kid is probably just a fatty-fat fat fat.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 it's not that long an explanation. Basically... king is a huge Brendan Kalfus fan, and they were trying to come up with a name for the Kalfus fan club, so they sent a tweet to kalfus with all the options, and "BK's Whoppers" was picked by Kalfus as the winner. So his pic is now Kalfus ... and a whopper.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 +1 it would be absolutely foolish to burn one of both Stroman's and Nolin's option years for spot starts. Nolin's has already been burned. For Stroman it's a 40 man spot through the off season that he'd take up.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 That pic is Kalfus and pretty much because I came up with the nickname it wouldn't surprise me if it became a section at Nat Bailey Stadium this year.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Ya exactly, going with Nolin makes way more sense.
Howard Roark Verified Member Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 You probably just hate looking at it when you browse the message board stoned Nope, I ditched junk food a long time ago. Now I binge on healthy s*** when The Munchies strike. Stop being fat, Hamburger Troll.
GNick Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Stroman or Nolin not ready. Don't want to do another Hutchinson 2.0. Where they rushed a good young arm to majors before he was stretched out. Then blew his arm out by years end. In 2012 Jays should have developed Hutch up to 180 innings or so in minors then bring him up mid-season 2013. Nolin closer than Stroman because Stroman really has thrown many innings. He was shutdown most of last year. He's not ready for prime time. Sept. 2014 be earliest like to see Stroman here. There's no rush...this team gong no-where.

Nolin MiLB IP: 335.2 Stroman MiLB IP: 120, but viewed as an MLB ready starter who could be rushed to the Show Hutchison MiLB IP: 234.2 I don't see how Nolin isn't ready, and September 2014 for Stroman is ridiculous.
