TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 it's funny how many posters have said the jays won't do a thing...but now are upset that they aren't doing a thing
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 It's not only the number of pen arms, its how do they even retain all these bodies? Will start losing assets to the waiver wire before long Maybe AA should be on hoarders.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 it's funny how many posters have said the jays won't do a thing...but now are upset that they aren't doing a thing People want to see deals made even if they don't think it will happen. Nothing else to look forward to for this season.

AA is trash, Beeston is trash, and they're killing this franchise with every dumb decision they make.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Red Sox - Worst bullpen first place Jays - Best bullpen last place I would've given up the Jays' equivalent of Avisail Garcia for Iglesias. Can AA please address the gaping hole in the MIF. Is he really going to make us watch a whole year of Bonifacio/Izturis?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 If he doesn't make some deals either now or in the winter, were going to have like 4 - 6 guys out of that group starting in the minors next season. and will have like 30 pitchers on the 40 man

theblujay Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 And we all know AA is gonna go on the radio after all this and go on about how "they had many deals on the table" but "the value wasn't there" It's gonna be fun to see Oliver walk away, Cecil and Delabar regress, Bautista decline and while all this happens the payroll goes up.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Fat Alice, the damn bullpen isn't the solution to our problems, do something to improve this team. Moneyball is to exploit the gaps that the market gives you. The bullpen this year looks like a beauty queen, the next year may look like a $ 20 whore.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Just because we saw it coming doesn't mean we have to be happy about it and just accept it. AA is trash, Beeston is trash, and they're killing this franchise with every dumb decision they make. I, and many others, started saying that last year. At that time it was time to hope that they luck their way into a playoff spot, now that would be the worst thing that will happen. The non moves at this deadline is to avoid trading a likable player like Cecil or Delabar...this is a public optics F.O.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 and will have like 30 pitchers on the 40 man It really is starting to look like he is a hoarder. I get that he likes his cheap controllable relievers, but this is ridiculous. He is paying guys like Lincoln (who would be a decent long man) to pitch in AAA at the expense of keeping arms that are a luxury at this point.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 and will have like 30 pitchers on the 40 man without options

He'd hate to have to lose a pitcher to add one to the forty man. Even if he was good at building a 25 man roster, he'd be's awful at building a full system.
theblujay Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 We have a surplus that other teams need. It's so simple. Do you guys think this board could run the Jays better than AA?

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I love having a retarded Gm and President only give a s*** about the Win coloumn in the next few years, trade away any chance of long term success for this franchise, o and do a terrible job in the process
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Do you guys think this board could run the Jays better than AA? No.

Yes, a lot of the real fans could. We just don't have the "experience" or have been around the game to know "how it works". This is now 5 stages past the point of being a shitshow

Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 collectively? without a doubt but the infighting and unprofessionalism would get us all fired Collectively? Everyone would be fired 10 minutes after being hired.

Ehh Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Why are so many of you getting worked up about not trading relievers? We'll get very little to nothing back anyways

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 People say this kind of thing in every workplace, but rarely is it ever the case. For baseball, I 100% believe its true. So many baseball "experts" out there choose to remain ignorant to the plethora of info out there for evaluating players.

bzapple Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 How do you know what we are going to get back? We are going to have way too many relievers come the 2nd half of the season, and we might be able to part with some of our relievers to help us in a position of need Oliver is retiring at the end of the season, there is NO reason to keep him I really don't see the trade value in Oliver right now, doubt any team would give more than an org guy. If he's not dealt it could very easily be because there's no market for him.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Who is that guy behind Butterfield?
