Club is well on its way to the WS. Need to keep all our relievers instead of unloading them for pieces to restock the farm.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Good. If we're not selling then I hope we're not buying In other words, I'm keeping all my guys and looking to add in the winter.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 Where? Where? Where? Where? Where? Where?
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Where? Where? Where? Where? Where? Where? He is talking about himself, lol.

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 The GM is in denial... this will not end well.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I've said before, I'll reserve judgement till after the deadline. Unless I'm mistaken, he'll have to either trade a couple of reliever or risk losing them by dfa'ing/waiving them. I just don't see the need to pay 4M each to Janssen and Santos especially with the payroll problems that loom. We'll have to wait and see.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 The GM is in denial... this will not end well. Not sure it's denial when so many of our high caliber players are playing well below their career averages. I think the right approach is to see if the team can turn it around next year... if not, sell mode goes into full effect

havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Probably another Happ type deal on the horizon.

He's gone anyways. Bautista's another year older and declining... Melky? Maybe if he starts taking roids again?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 Oh God, this organization suck
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Oh God, this organization suck This organization is a god damn joke. The present f***ing sucks and the future looks even worse.

Melky? Maybe if he starts taking roids again? You can't just say "he's older therefore here's declining"... and you know as well as anyone (casual fan or not) this team is playing below expectations, below their expected value.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Delmonico is actually a pretty decent prospect in high A ball. We should be able to get a nice return from our surplus of quality RP, that's if AA actually does sell a few of them at the deadline.
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 FIRE HIM NOW! The fact that he's not selling is a disgrace!
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 You can't just say "he's older therefore here's declining"... and you know as well as anyone (casual fan or not) this team is playing below expectations, below their expected value. I'm sorry bro but Bautista is declining.
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 You can't just say "he's older therefore here's declining"... I can, however, say that because his OPS, wOBA, wRC+, and wRAA are plummeting by the year, it's a pretty safe assumption that he's declining.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Bautista is pretty clearly a tier or two below where he was in 2010 and 2011. Wasted his great value by pipedreaming it, AA that is
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Wasted his great value by pipedreaming it, AA that is I would've been ok with a full-blown rebuild when AA took over or after 2010 or 2011.
Smokey Verified Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) ... and you know as well as anyone (casual fan or not) this team is playing below expectations, below their expected value. Expectations don't mean s***. The reality is that Pillsbury Doughboy went into this without any depth at the starting rotation in case of injuries and was forced to rely on guys like Chien-Ming Wang, Ramon Ortiz, Aaron Laffey, Todd Redmond and Ismail Rogers. They also have the one of the worse catchers behind the plate and not really a single plus defender up the middle. So can we please stop pretending like this team should be doing a lot better than it is? Edited July 24, 2013 by Smokey
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Man, AA needs to move Janssen ASAP. With the market the way it is he would get a solid return. Oliver needs to go as well.
jayswin11 Verified Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Ya Oliver needs to go for sure. Davis, Izturis maybe interest some teams. A NL team may even like Bonifacio. I want Arencibia gone too, but that won't happen
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 No Janssen/Delabar/Cecil/Oliver/Santos
