MLB:

• OF Ryan Braun has been suspended for the rest of the year (total of 65 games) for "violations of the Basic Agreement and its Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program." thanks to the Biogenesis report. Thank god.
  
• SP Matt Garza is taking a plane to Arlington as the Texas Rangers acquire the impending free agent. The Cubs net 4 prospects including prized prospects 1B/3B Mike Olt and RHP CJ Edwards along with RHP Justin Grimm.
   
  

 

Rays:

• In his first MLB season, Ryu has been impressive. Although he has a rough ERA on the road (4.42 ERA in 9 road starts) he has gone 6 innings at least in 16 of his last 18 starts.
  
• Ever since June 21, when the Dodgers reached a season low 12 games under .500, they have bounced back to the Majors best record (tied with Tampa) of 21-5
  
• Dodgers BP is going through a Jays-like stretch. In the last 14 games they have put up a 0.47 ERA, 0.60 BAA, and 41 Ks.
  

 

Jays:

• Josh Johnson gave up 7 runs in 6 innings against the Baltimore Orioles, one of his worst starts as a Jay in his short time here. His ERA has not dipped under 4.38 on the season
  
• Jays are on a 5 game losing skid and are 7-17 in their last 24 games.
  
• The only bright spot is that Reyes is hitting .407 (11/27) in his last 6 games. Other than that.... #TankNation?
