icecreamtruck Verified Member Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Maybe I'm missing something, but the box score shows that we had 21 left on base (LOB). Link: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/gametracker/recap/MLB_20130709_TOR@CLE This link says the most LOB ever is 20, and the most LOB ever in a shutout is 16. Did we just make bad history? http://www.baseball-almanac.com/recbooks/left_on_base_records.shtml I must be missing something.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Can't add the LOB for those records. The record is actually 20 men left on base. I think the Jays left just 10
admin Site Manager Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I'm not 100% certain, but 21 is not the total left on base. 21 is the total attempts with runners left on base. ie, two runners on base, jose comes up, strikes out. ee comes up, strikes out. The box score you listed will add 2LOB beside each of their names, total 4, when in reality it was just two left on base. I think the actual left on base is actually 20 different runners. If you check the MLB boxscore, we had 9 LOB.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 odd that CBS and Yahoo have different numbers for the LOB though

Anyway, sad to see we got shut out with 9 players left on base. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2013_07_09_tormlb_clemlb_1&mode=box
