backontop Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Gibbons appears ready to use Redmond in relief tonight. If he goes a couple of innings then he couldn't start on Sunday. Last March I heard that this guy by the name of Marcus Strom. is the next Dave Stieb for the Blue Jays. They said he was awesome in March. Natural ability. I'd sure love to see this guy. From what I have heard he is by far our most promising big talent in the minor leagues. Is it a concensus with more knowledgable fans that he is our next Doc Halladay? I've been a fan for decades, but when it comes to minor league prospects I don't know much, but I have never heard so much praise about this guy as I have heard other minor leaguers in the past who turned into hall of famers. It sure would be fun to watch him pitch on Sunday vs. the Minnesota Twins.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 The whole plan all along was to use Redmond today as relief, and then start him on Sunday... If that is the case then have Mcgowan piggy back his start for a couple innings and lets start getting him stretched out.

backontop Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Author Posted July 4, 2013 Dineke, are you saying Roger Clemons was better then Dave Stieb? I DON'T THINK SO!
Knights4Cup Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Yeah, let's rush up another young player. He'll gets crushed by elite MLB talent, confidence will be gone, the braintrust will send him back down. Waste another 2-3 years of development. Rinse and repeat. And the never ending cycle of mediocrity continues..

And the never ending cycle of mediocrity continues.. Yes, every player who has a bad outing at the MLB level loses their confidence and can never, ever recover to become a useful piece. Bonifacio may seem like a terrible baseball player, but he's actually a GREAT baseball player with no confidence! Stroman's more like the next Roger Clemons. Next Cliff Lee, bro!
flafson Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I don't think it's a great idea to rush another young guy... Nolin was unbeatable until he came up...

flafson Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 So why don't they just try everyone from A-AA? I'm sure there are others you could try and see what happens.
over500 Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 It probably means AA signed Jamie Moyer
Auldphartt Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 it probably means aa signed jamie moyer lol
