Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Verlander will f*** Rasmus tomorrow
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Yeah, that's coming up pretty soon. We have all the analysis finished, and a fair amount of the paper is written, but we need to get our discussion section fleshed out enough so we can send it to our collaborators. Dammit, and now that the thunderstorms have let up here, the chest thumpers have started blowing s*** up. I guess they forgot to look at their calendars. 'Murica!
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Same stage, just no collaborators aside from a partner I typically work with. Just cleaning up the analysis and trying to finish a coherent discussion. I have about six to eight other folks who've provided some input, and data, so they'll all be on the paper, but the only person who's been working directly with me on it is my current advisor.
admin Site Manager Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 That's why I believe in building for sustainable success - you can't just assemble a 25-man roster that looks good and expect to win in a given season. That's not how baseball works. The best organizations run a quality team out there year after year after year. Sometimes they make the playoffs. Most of the time they don't. This was a good 25-man roster, but one with very serious concerns about depth in the lineup and bench. There was no depth outside the 25-man. Anything but a great run of health and quality individual seasons from all key players was going to derail the season. It wouldn't be a big deal if we were built conventionally. Let the kids develop, add a player and take another kick at the can. That isn't how this team was assembled though. 2013 was going to be their best chance to win. Now they're old, expensive, and frankly, not very good. Remember we preached this on the old board after the big moves, and we were told to stfu and enjoy it?

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Looks like I chose the right game to skip
AAdaclown Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Been saying it all year, JJ is terrible. What a god awful trade AA is a clown
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Author Posted July 4, 2013 Take a look at his peripherals. JJ is not terrible, he has been above average, but just really really unlucky so far. My problem with him is that he sometimes loses control and throws WAY too many pitches. It seems to be the norm to hit 55 pitches in the middle of 3 innings of work with this guy
AAdaclown Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Take a look at his peripherals. JJ is not terrible, he has been above average, but just really really unlucky so far. LOL Umm Ya.. He's f***ing terrible, he pitches like a Girl not sure if she wants to let her bf get to 2nd base.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Unlucky??? he has not been unlucky, he has been what he is, great one minute bad the next. He often gets rattled and loses control of his pitches. Major disappointment. metaljay?
