Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 I think a few things were clear yesterday on our side. 1. Ibaka can't be in the starting rotation when he's playing like this. 2. You need JV out there countering Love. 3. The offense got frustrated and starting heaving bad shots when we got down, that can't happen. Get movement, make it unpleasant for the Cavs on defense. Make Lebron play defense, or give you easy layups if he won't.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Raps now at 6.50 odds to win the series and Cavs at 1.11
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Raps now at 6.50 odds to win the series and Cavs at 1.11 Time for our second bet.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Time for our second bet. lol I was considering it. Oddly enough the odds for the Raptors to win the east? 6.50 Something is not right here.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 lol I was considering it. Oddly enough the odds for the Raptors to win the east? 6.50 Something is not right here. Wait, what? That doesn't make any sense.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Wait, what? That doesn't make any sense. I know. They screwed up somewhere.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 The second I saw Cleveland as a +170 dog for the series I knew that was a good bet. The second I saw the live bet of the Cavs to win game one after the first quarter returning 7 times my money, I knew that was a good bet. I didn't take them because I couldn't go against my hometown team. That's my biggest regret.
_nole_ Verified Member Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Lol the NBA is the worst of the big four. No parity in the sport. Another year the Raptors lose to the Cavs. zzzZZzz
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Lol the NBA is the worst of the big four. No parity in the sport. Another year the Raptors lose to the Cavs. zzzZZzz To be fair... every team that played Lebron in the Eastern Conference playoffs have failed for the past 8 years so it's not like the Raptors are in an exclusive club. The man is a beast. He can only be beaten by another team with multiple superstars. Raps don't even have 1 superstar, it's a no-win scenario.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 Lol the NBA is the worst of the big four. No parity in the sport. Another year the Raptors lose to the Cavs. zzzZZzz The NFL has worse parity than the NBA. Anyone of the Cavs, Warriors or Rockets could win the title this year.
_nole_ Verified Member Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 The NFL has worse parity than the NBA. Anyone of the Cavs, Warriors or Rockets could win the title this year. This is false. The NFL has 5-7 SB contenders: Eagles, Patriots, Vikings, Saints, Rams, Steelers, Jaguars. NBA is always Warriors and Cavs. It's much easier in the NFL for championship caliber teams to emerge. Look no further than the Eagles.

As someone mentioned, you’re talking about a shot or two going the other way and you guys are playing the Pacers right now. There were games where James played liked Superman and they needed like every single bit of that or they would’ve lost. I don’t think there’s much difference between DeRozan and Oladipo in terms of star power. The Cavs supporting roster is really bad. As a Lebron fan I’m half rooting for them to lose so he can abandon the s*** show. But when the Cavs supporting players, especially Love, are hitting their shots... Cavs will beat Rockets/Warriors those games
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 Wow. Philly a 9 point favorite tonight. If I gambled I’d probaly go Boston for couple hundred

The star power distribution in the NBA is very West heavy right now.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 We’ll see. There’s no #2 for Lebron anymore that can create their own shot and that’s why they hardly got out of the 1st round where LJ has dominated years past. . Despite the last game, Love hasn’t even looked like a decent 3rd option. I think the upcoming Boston series will be tough and they don’t have a single star. They move the ball around great and play high-energy on both ends

Sure a few contenders can pop up and be relevant for a few years but same is true in the NBA. Rockets could win a championship this year and it wouldn't surprise anyone. Hell the Warriors just lost to the Pelicans..
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 Masai out on the floor complaining to the refs. Lol I think he's feeling the pressure.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 I actually really like the way we've played this game, aside from some of the easy shots we missed in the first 5 mins.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 Masai out on the floor complaining to the refs. Lol I think he's feeling the pressure. He's just annoyed at being stuck with a great regular season team that has no chance of winning it all while Derozan is the focal point. His wagon is hitched to a volume shooting guard that relies on getting to the free thow line via fouls, can't shoot a 3 ball, can't defend and has to have plays run for him because he can't create his own shots. Derozan excels at what the NBA did 20 years ago, and while he still scores a bunch based on volume of shots and free throws, he's not what you need to win in the game today, unless he's a third option type of guy, second option at best.

Derozan as a 2nd or third star probably wouldn't be ideal either because he can't play defense or stretch the floor.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 What a ridiculous shot by Lebron. Boy, we really needed to return the favor for them on game one, and it would have been a series again.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 an enjoyable game. Your opponents taking fadeaways all day will usually end in a win.
