Did anyone else see the post game interview? He actually argued that Vasquez deserved to be out there since he apparently did the best job on Evans. He also said that he did well on that last possession.

If you actually watch it again, he basically sets a pick on his own big men to stop them from contesting the shot. Amir Johnson had to go around f***ing Vasquez and couldnt do anything lol.

It was terrible defense, but it also was the same defensive effort he gives on every play. I don't think anyone watching was surprised that Evans blew right past him. You simply can't have your worst defender on the court and your best on the bench when you need a DEFENSIVE stop. A 10 year old could have seen that.

The ego might be distracting to the other players. You deal with it when he's the best player on the court, but now it's just unnecessary drama.

KG is done at this point. A couple years ago that would of been a really solid move but doesn't move the needle now.

You don't really need a tough guy, that's just the the common go to topic when a team falls apart. The spurs don't have any, neither do the hawks. But yea I can't stand Casey anymore, he's either blind or watching a complety different game

Well, considering we lost to the Pelicans without AD or Jrue and we were winning (by 7) going into the 4th + Casey's horrid decisions down the stretch. I would say yes

Vasquez deserved to be out there (on offense anyway). He outplayed Lowry by a significant margin yesterday.

 

Really hoping Kyle doesn't make the ASG now. He looks horrible out there. He needs a break.

Yes, on offense only. He never ever deserves to be on last minute defense, especially over our god damn best defender.

I think the Raps problem is fairly obvious, their defense is suspect at best.

 

Opponents scoring 101.5 ppg 21st in the league

Opponents fg% 46.3... 24th in the league

Opponents offensive rebounds per game 11.2 21st in the league

I don't know s*** about basketball but wouldn't the easiest way to address this be to give JV more playing time? Is more Big Guy = more rebounds for you too simplistic of an equation?

You may gain a little advantage in rebounding but the overall defense would suffer. The problem with JV is he gets lost or thinks too much when there is a breakdown in the defense and with the raps current perimeter defenders, that happens a lot. You hope he continues to improve in this area but so far we really haven't seen it.

 

The team isn't as bad as they are playing right now and they weren't as good as they were before. I think thats why you always hear Masai preaching "We are a growing team" to try to temper the expectations.

Yeah, i agree with this.

 

Val is a below average help defender + our guards get blown by 15+ times per game. It is really a horrible defensive combination

They don't give him opportunities because they don't trust him but without opportunities there's no way for him to earn that trust either. You would think that in the midst of this losing streat, the team be willing to experiment and try a didn't formula for awhile if only to shake things up especially since from what I understand, JV is still well above replacement value for the position and replacing him with someone better is neither simple nor even likely.

I still don't understand this. Like is he swearing at them or something, because he routinely gets screwed on calls. He must have a Rasheed Wallace reputation among officials just not sure how it came to that.

GV was really the only option to start instead of Ross since JJ and DD can't really shoot the 3. Sad thing is it is probably an upgrade with the way Ross was playing. Interested to see the rotations tonight since GV likely has to play the point with the 2nd unit.
