Lol at that body check not being flagrant. Refs seem determined to make sure we get no free throws today. They've given flagrant fouls for way the hell less all playoffs.

Whistles were heavily in favor of green shirts. Raptors home court advantage non-existent inside the bubble.

There’s some truth behind NBA playoffs is all about star power, as they get more whistles than everyone else. Our guys played hard tonight. But 12 point lead in the 3rd and basically couldn’t score much after that. When the 3s aren’t dropping, this offense is severely neutered.

It’s like they’re allergic to the basket and keep running the same P&R play top of the key. Tough to watch.

Holy s***!!!

Back in the series!

I’m out and about and saw in ESPN gameday Theis dunked home the lead with .5 so they must’ve chucked it in I guess?

Considering the circumstances and degree of difficulty, that was one of the greatest passes I’ve ever seen.

Agreed. All credit is being given to Anunoby which he did make the shot under very high pressure circumstances. But an NBA player that open SHOULD be making that shot. The pass and Boston's defensive lapse need to be given equal credit there.

Yeah Toronto played great aside from Siakam chucking a bunch of bricks from three point range. That it was was close just shows how good both teams are

When Fred VanVleet jr came inside the bubble, Celtics should’ve known it wasn’t going to be an easy series.

That carpet is hideous, that was so cute, by the way.

So Giannis will be a Raptor. What do they have to do to make payroll work? What would the team look like? Fred gone?

Honestly, if Giannis really wants to team up with Masai and would re-sign if we sign-and-trade for him, then the most logical thing IMO is to send Siakam to the Bucks for him. (1) That's about as good as the Bucks are going to get in return, (2) Siakam has overlapping but worse skills than Giannis, (3) and the Siakam money in that scenario would be better spent re-signing Fred and putting shooters around Giannis. I'm really very down on Siakam after his bubble showing. He has some very predictable pet moves that the league is onto now, and I'm struggling to see him breaking through to another level. He's not an optimal piece as a fellow max contract on the same team as Giannis.

One of my personal conspiracy theories is that Masai and Lowry have a handshake agreement baked into Kyle's two-year contract extension. We pay him big for these two years, then he signs on for vet minimum when we have Giannis on the payroll.

I’ve never looked into why NBA teams do sign and trades. Is it for the bird rights or some s***?

Clearly Siakam and Giannis are not complementary and arguably they would have negative chemistry.

Essentially a sign-and-trade allows the player to go to their team of choice while also attaining the maximum possible salary (and sometimes a year before FA), and it allows the team he is departing to recoup maximum assets since he has indicated his unwillingness to sign long term. Recent examples would be Kevin Durant and Jimmy Butler. It may also be done for cap considerations if the team the player wants to go to doesn't have the cap space to sign him outright.

If Giannis does not sign the super max contract extension with the Bucks this summer, they are either going to have to take one final year of him to make a championship run and then get nothing but cap space, or they can ask him what team he is willing to sign long term with and then work out a deal to get assets for him. It's a conundrum for sure.

Gotta be a good sign when even the bald midget Canada-hater is reluctantly admitting that Toronto has a shot at Giannis now. Far cry from his posts months ago.

This is my thinking too and we never agree on anything so your conspiracy theory is much more widespread than you thought.
