Would be cool to see Leonard announce he's resigning with the Raptors on Canada Day.

I would like to see the Raps target Kelly Oubre Jr., Seth Curry and it would be cool to bring back Vince Carter for his last season.

No to Vince. The man can't move anymore and is a liability on the floor. He can hit the odd jumper but that's not nearly enough to waste a roster spot on.

I'd do it for a one game ceremonial retirement. Give him 10 minutes on the floor in a meaningless at the end of the season. Then again, if you're going to make such an effort for Vince, a man who spent the bulk of his career not in a Raptors uniform, you might as well do that with hundreds of players across all major leagues.

I know that Vince Carter holds some special bond to our team as a young franchise that has mostly sucked in its history, but in the grand scheme of things, Vince Carter's Raptors career isn't anything that particularly special or noteworthy. The comparable is probably Roberto Alomar and he won twice in this city and had truly memorable moments that people outside of the Toronto sports scene might recall. Vince Carter had some sweet looking dunks which make up two points of a 100 point game.

He can't see this because he's designated you as a "troll"

Personally, I can't wait to see him lose his s*** when I become a mod and he can't put me on ignore lol.

Oh I'm aware and I don't care. He's the one who looks like an idiot, basically repeating what I said about the free agent moves so far, on top of the laughs we already have at his expense for his weak political views. Britain sucks.

Maybe, but there is a 0% chance this is happening as he gives zero shits about this, even if he had a personality that gave a s*** about meaningless sentimental things. Incredible how after a year here and some success everyone wants the guy to be an honorary Canadian.

As far as targeting other FA, the team's payroll is at its limit. Next year and thereafter there will be a ton of breathing space but the main goal now should be trying to keep as much of the team together as possible. Which means 99% Leonard, 1% Green and an infinitesimally small number for the rest of the spare parts.

Kahwi's decision is HUGE right now for the league. If he goes back to the Raptors the race for the championship is wide open and parity runs throughout both conferences. If he goes to the Lakers we've got another superteam on our hands (of course injuries can always derail that).

I'd be shocked if Kawhi was interested in being a third wheel per se.

That scenario works if he signs with the Clippers too.

I agree, I'd just go back to the Raptors if I were him. Good org, great fanbase, more money, it's his team/city/country, etc. That said, these NBA guys love LA. Seems like Lakers or Clippers are both very viable options from what I've read. Would not be surprised if he ended up with any of the 3. Seems like the momentum is with the Lakers tbh but that could be warped by the media being so enamored with them.

Yeah, a big thing to remember is KL wanted to go to LA in the first place (supposedly). Sure maybe the LBJ situation changes that but also you can’t disregard they’re friends and good with each other. I don’t know if anyone is qualified to predict KL’s thought process.

I also read James was making a pitch, like “this is your guy’s team, this is my swan song” etc

I don't think the Clippers could offer Leonard a load management strategy like the Raptors have and sit him for 15-20 games. Raptors last season proved they could do that and they still came in second place in the Eastern Conference.

Yeah but do you really think they believe that? I don't believe it one bit. The Lakers are still LeBron's team. AD and KL are the secondary pieces.

Yeah it seems like Clippers are in 3rd to me. Lakes 1A and Raptors 1B. This is just me reading the tea leaves though and the media could definitely be hyping up the Lakers' odds of landing him. Seems like they've been condescending toward the Raps retaining him ever since they dealt for him.

Yeah I've been watching some US basketball media as well and they just love fapping all over the Lakers. Most on ESPN have the Lakers winning in 2019/2020 without even have fielded a full team yet lol.

Betting sites have Raps as the favorites with the Lakers second and the Clippers 3rd.

Not mine. (Sports Interaction)

Lakers - 3.60 odds

Raptors - 6.00

Bucks - 8.00

Rockets 10.00

Warriors, 76ers - 11.00

Clippers - 14.00

Lakers opened the favorite at the Vegas sports books right after the Finals. Before the AD trade so obviously somebody knew something

Watching Stephen A Smith havea meltdown on Jump was spectacular, Brooklyn trolled him hard.

Knicks whiffed hard but I’ll give them credit for apparently learning the lesson and not signing a bunch of 2nd rate players to bad deals. Even Randle they gave 2 years and an option. Still, they’ll be s*** for years

Yikes, was away all weekend in middle of nowhere. Crazy start to free agency. Now to see where Leonard goes..

Also, saw on Reddit that iggy might be a buyout and a laker sign. So..

- Davis

- lebron

- Leonard

- iggy

- random shooter

In a switch f***ing everything lineup would be extremely interesting.

Iggy f***ing sucks now, there's a good reason the Raps left him wide open all series. The depth on that team is going to be some of the grossest ever seen, with or without Kawhi.

He’s been left wide open in every finals golden state have been in. He’s a terrible shooter and has been for a while.

Iggy can still jump like he’s 22 though, I’ll give him that. But yeah, awful shooter. Good defender though.

For sure. Which is his strength. He can defend 2/3/4 and on the minimum after a buyout that’s a great option
