It's really strange being in the middle of the Prairies drinking by myself celebrating this. I really want to be in Toronto for this (in a bar not on the street cause I'm not a peasant)

Hope he doesn't leave for Washington. They're gonna try to pry him away.

For now, who cares. Also with the Kawai BS

Raptors are the youngest team to have won a championship. Them and the Heat are the only franchises younger than me to have won a championship. Respectable franchises like the Jazz and Suns still haven't won one yet and half the league's teams have either never won one or won it so long ago in a different city and era that it basically holds no meaning.

Players and management may come and go but this can never be taken away from the Raptors.

Just saw a cruiser with it's windshield crushed in, at the tunnel to the ACC on King St. hopefully it doesn't escalate to more of that s***.

That was awesome. Wish I could be downtown right now.

I lol'd hard looking back at the posts. I'd imagine the Jays in the World Series would be this x100

What is Skip Bayless's problem with KW?? Guy is a dick...

Skip Bayless is just a character. As in, it's an act. He knows that if he is a dick to star players it gets a lot of attention and attention = money for him.

He's a Spurs fan and feels spurned because of how Kawhi left that team.

Move over Dart Guy. Raptors have Plant Guy:

Yep. I once dated a stripper from Scores in Manhattan and Howard Stern would come in with the crew sometimes (as that affiliation was part of act) and everyone said what a polite and proper guy he was. If girls went over to him he just loved talking about his wife and kids. Was never the tiniest bit crude. That doesn’t make you $100m/year though

Klay really f***ed himself last night. KD is an automatic max guy even if he’s missing all next year. Klay much less obvious and since he’ll prob be out until Feb-Mar at the earliest, could effect his offers. Of course, now GS is pressured to offer max even if they weren’t going to be before as that would look shady as hell

I wonder if Klay's knee giving out had anything to do with the hamstring strain. Everything is connected - a weakening in the muscle attaching to the knee could make make the knee structure less resilient to forces that could cause catastrophic injuries.

You see this all the time with pitchers, right. Forearm strain or biceps soreness as a precursor to ligament tear.

Having to GS monsters lose most/all of the next season due to trying to play through injury in the Finals is crazy. What a way to lose.

Man, so much easier to run an MLB franchise. Use up a pitcher in the first six years then send him to the trash heap once it's FA time.

I am scared about this with our first round pick...(Baseball). The guy is so big and he needs to drive through the legs... I think a lot of his success/ability to stay healthy will be dependent on his knees..

Meh. The size would mostly make me concerned about degenerative knee stuff, which would be super unlikely to affect him during the team he will be in the organization. Might matter in his 30s.

I'm liking the whole "Masai's gamble paid off" conversation popping up once again. A gamble implies a winning and a losing scenario. There was no gamble, the Kawai trade was a pure massive win from day one no matter the outcome for the Raptors this year and if he re-signs or not. Even the Gasol trade you could argue the gamble was limited since after several years the Raptors weren't going to get any more out of JV than what they already have under this coaching and player development system. He's not a gambler, he's just a smart basketball man.

Ujiri rivals Pat Gillick as best executive we've seen in Toronto. I still give the edge to Gillick, but Ujiri's tenure is still (hopefully) ongoing.

I still love how everyone thinks Masai Ujiri is the Raptors GM. Bobby Webster might as well not even exist.

I was way too caught up in the celebrations last night to come here and post, but did anyone complain about the gross old suits groping and fondling the Larry O'B before the players even got to touch it? That felt so wrong and just kept going. I felt like I was getting diddled, and not in a good way.
