Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 I think when the playoffs started there were only two teams that had a realistic shot at taking out GS, and that's Houston (who failed) and us. I don't know if we'll succeed or not, but I think we have the team makeup to give the Warriors a lot of problems.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Although I’m 5’10 and judging by your gangly 6’6 “5” you’re banging, you’re probably much taller. But I’d also bet my last dime you’d give me as much trouble as a wet paper bag irl. So just keep up the keyboard warrior act like Boxy The angry short American who somehow has man-crushes on both LeBron and Trump with nothing better to do on his Saturday night than to troll a city about its basketball team the very night it clinched its first NBA finals appearance - and he likes that city's baseball team for some reason - is calling me a keyboard warrior. I'm very upset.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Wrestling being fake or not, even with the padding, that HAD to hurt. You should see the gif of the dude's face literally exploding after getting an uppercut from a ladder or when Sid Vicious' leg shattered when he jumped off the top rope. I already knew wrestling hurt.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Actually I think the Tor games will be more exciting than MIL would’ve... and I can still troll some later on so I had no issue with Raps winning. Honestly I didn’t think MIL would get past Boston.

IMO the Bucks had a better chance than the Raptors, but that's probably influenced by the Bucks beating the Warriors easily in Oakland in the only game I went to this season haha.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 The finals are going to be exciting though!

Maahfaace Verified Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 I just placed a live bet on the Raptors to win so that pretty much seals the victory for us. You're welcome everyone Wow!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Boxy and connorp you both have rage issues. How can you be angry after a game like that?
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Was watching TNT- How many Jays were at the game? Hope they were taking notes on leadership and professionalism from the GOAT!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Was at the game last night! The atmosphere was electric in that 4th quarter!!! Definitely have to put it in my Top 5 Toronto sporting events I've ever attended thus far along with these ones: - East Semifinals Game 7 Raptors vs. 76ers - ALDS Game 5 Rangers vs. Blue Jays - Grey Cup 2017 Argos vs. Stampeders - 2016 AL Wildcard Orioles vs. Blue Jays Other considerable mentions: 2009 WBC Canada vs. USA (never experienced an atmosphere like that for a baseball game at the Dome before since most Jays games after their 92/93 World Series weren't that meaningful prior to 2015); 2009 Yankees vs. Blue Jays - AJ Burnett vs. Roy Halladay (felt like a postseason game in the month of May). I was too young back in 92/93 so never went to any of the Jays postseason games though I would put the 93 World Series Joe Carter walk-off HR up there obviously if I attended lol.

I was at the clinch game AL East 1985 at the Ex. Bleacher creature and some older kids I was with had cigarettes and I tried my first one. (don’t smoke, hate smoking) First win of any significance in Jays history and city went wild. Back then fans still routinely bum rushed the field and the police had a s*** ton of mounted police on horses and in riot gear to control crowds.

Plat Verified Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Finals bound, first Toronto finals team since 93 Jays
Frag Verified Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Warriors may have the best offense in offensive rating (114.9), but Raptors are 5th (112.5). Raptors have the better defense in defensive rating at 5th (106.8), while GS is 11th (108.5) In net rating, GS slightly ahead (6.4 vs. 5.8) In terms of opponents: Raptors: Magic (108.1 ORtg/107.5 DRtg), 76ers (111.5/108.9), Bucks (113.5/104.9) Warriors: Clippers (111.3/110.3), Rockets (114.8/110.1), Trail Blazers (113.6/109.5) Raptors faced better defensive teams, while Warriors faced better offensive teams. In net rating, Bucks were 1st by a clear margin, followed by Golden State and Toronto. Finally, Raptors have home court advantage, which makes the series even closer. I expect this series to go 6 or 7 games.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 I love the way all of Canada hates Toronto but when a Non-Leafs Toronto team has a run suddenly that team is theirs. The Jays I understand it as they have actually marketed this way. But the Raps...it's a Toronto team.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/our-model-loves-the-raptors-maybe-a-little-too-much/ I will not be betting the Raps (mostly because I've become $2-$5 bettor, just to feed the addiction). But the Raps at almost 3 to 1, with home advantage, is a solid value bet.

There isn’t a second Canadian team, who are Canadian NBA fans outside of Toronto “meant” to support?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 There isn’t a second Canadian team, who are Canadian NBA fans outside of Toronto “meant” to support? The Prairies should support the Bucks, BC...Golden State. East Coast Celtics. Also all their local CEBL and NBL teams. Honestly I've never understood why in this era geography makes your decisions for you. I know I hate the city of Philadelphia. I will not cheer for any Philly teams...ever (honestly Yankees or Red Sox over Phillies even...f*** I'd cheer for the O's over the Phillies). I am a Toronto guy who travels across Canada for jobs. I hear the s*** talking about Toronto and Ontario. Then I see the Raptors jerseys (albeit it is 80% Filipinos wearing them here in Swift and they probably don't hate Toronto). Like I said the Jays have marketed themselves as Canada's team. But the Raps never do outside of "We the North".

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 There isn’t a second Canadian team, who are Canadian NBA fans outside of Toronto “meant” to support? No team, or an American team that's geographically close. It's been made abundantly clear, for decades upon decades, that all things Toronto are an abomination to society. Picking and choosing what to root for does nothing for the credibility of these buffoons. That's why people are just a bunch of blow hards.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Well the Vancouver Grizzlies were a thing...

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Durant is so important to the Warriors because Curry and Klay can get cold but Durant is the anchor in those cases and can pretty much always get his shot.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Though they do have the whole 30-1 or whatever going without him out so idk
