Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 You guys really think we can steal one in the Bucks home court? If not, we are just postponing the inevitable, not that I don't want more basketball.

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 You're right, no chance. Bucks in -5. Is this like when Charles Barkley said last night he was wrong about the GS vs. Pacers series because he thought it was best of 25

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Depends on adjustments I guess, Kawhi's health and if the bench can do what it's been doing. We need to stay out of foul trouble, some guys were walking a fine line even last night. If Marc Gasol can continue to play like he played last night, that is a gamechanger. His 3 is dropping, he's showing more confidence driving in the lane and his defense and passing have been absurdly good. Powell has been a godsend. Ibaka needs to have more games like that one where he's just a monster on the glass. If Raps win tomorrow, I think they take this in 6. They didn't just win last night, they adjusted to Milwaukee and dominated them the entire game. Makes me feel like something started to really click. I also feel strongly that the Raptors can beat the Warriors, especially with home court. I think the ECF are the actual finals rn.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 The self-admitted Raptors bandwagon jumping fan is now dumping newb NBA knowledge on us about how #TheFinalsWillBeEasyToWin. Even referred to the team as "we". If this is not a curse I don't know what is.

I have been paying attention the whole season, though, and I also used to be a huge fan in the Vince Carter/TMac/Anthony Davis days. I still remember Dell Curry's breakaway pull up 3 in game 7 against Iverson's 76ers. TL;DR gfy
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 the Vince Carter/TMac/Anthony Davis days 5 year old Anthony Davis f***ing carried that team, I don’t care what anyone says.

They needed a convincing win last night to make a statement, and they did just that. I was so impressed with the way they played throughout the entire game. I'm actually pretty confident in this team going back to Milwaukee and possibly winning Game 5 if they play the way they did last night. Momentum is on the Raps side now IMO. Milwaukee is the team under pressure right now.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Raptors open up as 7 point dogs for game 6.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 I’ll take the Bucs in 7, which was my prediction to start with. I could see Raps taking it though. I think MIL was a tad overrated after first 2 games. I was seeing mainstream articles suggesting it was the start of a dynasty. They had just rolled over Boston easily which I didn’t think they would. A lot of internal discord going on in Beantown though and it showed. The Raps have as much chance of beating the Dubs though as they did LBJ in years’ past
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 Surprised this is allowed. Seems like circumventing the cap: https://www.yahoo.com/sports/real-estate-investor-offers-kawhi-leonard-free-penthouse-to-stay-with-raptors-191610865.html

It's basically a promotional thing for the developer. You can bet they'd be marketing the condos with his name featured prominently.

In this case it’s a developer but what if it’s someone connected to the ownership group sweetening the pot when there’s a hard cap scenario

Unless the NBA adopts an NCAA approach and limits anything players recieve from anywhere.

Like a sneaker company offering someone an extra $20m to sign with the Knicks I was just thinking of the loophole room for abuse but you aren’t going to stop pro athletes from getting paid. But this is likely why they won’t budge on NCAA guys. Definitely could game the system easy enough (not that it doesn’t get games already)

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 I mean they could/should have stolen game 1 in Milwaukee so yeah of course Not sure I agree with that. They won the first quarter and then were outplayed for the next three quarters.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 Not sure I agree with that. They won the first quarter and then were outplayed for the next three quarters. You don't think they could have won a game that they were winning with three minutes left, you f***ing dork? They had an 82% win probability in the third quarter of game one. 62% with under three minutes left in the game. "not sure I agree that they could/should have won game 1. Just not sure that I agree with it. just not really sure that i can agree with your sentiments. just don't know. I just... not sure!"
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 I need a Charles Barkley guarantee and a Sid Seixeiro reverse curse for this game.

They were outscored every quarter except the 1st and the 4th quarter they were outscored 32-17... I didn't need computerized win probabilities to tell me they were not going to win that game you f***ing nerd/Ostrich hybrid. By the way, Hilary Clinton still had a 65% probability of winning on Election night at 9pm but everyone knew she was going to be toast by then.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 Not sure I agree with that. I agree this is a respectful reply, unlike your other one.
