John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 It should be a good sport, but the officiating is worse in basketball than any other sport I've seen. Watching the Utah / Houston game and yeah... the officiating is atrocious. Theyre not calling body checks but will drop techs on guys clapping their hands after a play, and the announcers have the audacity to suggest the techs are legit because they "need to get ahold of this game."

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 The Nog experiment was not wise. FFS, get JV out there and ride him the rest of the game if you have to.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 we've played better with DD on the bench all series and made a run without him last game and he plays the most minutes today. f***ing Casey

Gotta go with the horses that got you there.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 There you go. Have him out for the 4th again. Let’s see what they can do;)
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 lol at jack armstrong being a f***ing shill
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Well at least you guys got to sip the juice for most of the year. That means something
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Gutless effort. Season on the line, down 3-0 and you let the other guys shoot over 60%. Blow it up, it's not going anywhere in the playoffs without a complete core overhaul.

43211234 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 So Lowry and DeRozan are on max contracts and the Ibaka and Powell contracts are horrendous. Lowry and DeRozan have little to no trade value. lol this franchise is done for a decade at least

Caper Verified Member Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 lol at jack armstrong being a f***ing shill He's a bigger homer then Mike Wilner.

The problem is that this franchise has historically been so bad they're afraid to lose what they have, even if it isn't good enough... So they're gonna keep shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic hoping for a different result, which is also the definition of insanity.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 There are 20 teams in the NBA which are in a worse spot than the Raptors right now. Though admittedly the Raptors were in a better spot two years ago than they are now with all that cap room and multiple first round picks. Ujiri could have done better.

The Titanic might not change, but the size of the iceberg might. If LeBron goes to the Lakers the Raptors should be in a good spot. The East is a joke outside of Boston and Philadelphia and I'm not sold on the 76ers either. If LeBron stays East....well he does get a year older but him on the 76ers and that team becomes stacked. Also I don't think anyone has a problem with Lowry playing out his contract here.

As mush as Casey tried to change up the play style this season with more movement and less Demar ISO ball.... that's 5 years too late in adjusting and as soon as there was any pushback ... they fell right back into it. Get a coach that actually embraces the ball movement style, punt DeRozan into the sun and try again. I really don't think the team would suffer that much if DeRozan was gone and the rest of the team was mostly intact. I have no idea who would even bother taking him though when the league knows he isn't a real needle mover.

I respect you aren’t doing a complete 180. You felt pretty confident Raps were going to get past the Cavs just a few months ago. Hopefully being a pro gambler you didn’t take any kind of future bet on it

I have been more patient with him than most, but this is the third year where the team has stalled. Time to cut the cord and move on. If DeRozan stays, he stays. But a new coach should have a reduced role for him and let someone else stand up. I wasn't worried about LeBron scoring 50 every night because with that putrid defense I was expecting the Raptors to put up 120+. But outside of the first quarter of the first game this team was terrible. No excuses. This team knows how to score against mediocre defenses and just didn't perform when it counted.

I regretted not taking Cleveland @ +170 underdogs for the series and something like +700 live bet when they were down 14 points after the first quarter in the first game. s***, I hate being a homer....when you're a homer you know your team best, but I can never bring myself to betting against my own team.

No they aren't. They have zero chance to win a championship and project only to get worst after that. How is that a good spot?

Caper Verified Member Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Well how many teams besides the Rockets, Warriors, or Cavs are a title contender this year or next? Celtics. Sixers next year for sure. But that's why you tank now. collect assets.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Celtics. Sixers next year for sure. But that's why you tank now. collect assets. No way Sixers and I’m saying that as somewhat fan. In a few years if Simmons gets a jump shot and JE stays healthy they may have a shot if they keep supporting cast and Fultz develops. But no chance to dethrone top teams next year or even year after. Boston is interesting. They have the best head coach imo. If Kyrie and GH are there at least.

Bill Simmon's was making a point and I think it's relevant, the Sixer's might be better off staying away from James. They can compete with the studs they have and it might hurt their development to be playing second fiddle to Lebron James.
