whatever happens against the Cavs, this was by far the best post season game played by the raps in 15 years. They had been scraping their way through and doing more than enough to lose both series. This game was a winning effort and in the 4th when most of us worried they might falter, when the Cavs cut it to 6, the Raps abused the Heat like a rental car.

DeMar is endlessly annoying, but the true team effort from Toronto this playoffs is so refreshing in a sport that is usually dominated by just the star players. On their way to the conference finals when Lowry has been less than a star in probably 10+ of the 14 games.

 

They seem to be getting small contributions from everybody. Biyombo has been great this series, JV obviously was a tank before he got hurt, Powell was important last series, Ross has been important at times and not a total plug like in past years, Carroll has been very effective, Joseph has been effective. Patterson hasn't really seemed effective to me but he's still had his moments.

This game was easily their best game of the playoffs so far. One of the rare times I felt the lead was safe halfway through the fourth quarter.

Let's hope they take this momentum into Cleveland to face a rusty Cavs team. If only they can steal that first game on the road.

 

Raptors, one of 4 team remaining are 50-to-1 odds to win the championship. I've never seen anything like that from a #2 seed. The Marlins and Angels have the same odds to win the World Series.

It's 10 to 1 odds on the Raps to beat the Cavs so even that's a nice return. Put your $10 on the 50-to-1, another $10 on this series then when you win $100 back lay down $80 on whatever insane odds the Raps will get to beat the Warriors and you're riding a free lotto ticket.

Basketball is weird to me. As a baseball-only sports fan it's wild to see some teams so grossly favoured over others. I'm so used to the huge variations and come-what-may luck of a single series between two baseball teams.

Raps need to put that game 7 effort into every game against the Cavs so they don't get embarrassed. Carrol defending Lebron is probably the biggest part of the series, but that's what he was brought in to do.

 

It would be nice if the raps can take a game... I'll start with hoping for that and see how the series goes.

I'd rather have 2Pat. Its nice to see Biyombo playing well but I don't want to sign him for how much money he is going to get. With JV signed long term it doesn't really make sense to shell out 6-7 Million on a long term deal for a backup C when that money can be used elsewhere.

2Pat is getting 6-7 million, so. .156 WS/48 on 6.5m could be really good depending on how role players get paid with the cap spike upcoming. I think they're going to get paid more than you'd think.

Yeah your'e probably right, Biyombo gets closer to 9-10 million which I want no part of. I'd still much rather have Pat as he's a better fit and IMO a better player. He never really blows you away with his numbers but he's a really smart player and spaces the floor pretty well as a stretch 4.

The way NBA refs work, if anyone tries to gaurd LeBron with anything less than 3 feet of space they'll be fouled out halfway through the second quarter.

If you can get Biyombo for like 4/40 that would be a steal. 3/20 might get you a bag of balls.
