can they like just send DD home early? he's going to be free agent anyways

His struggles against the Pacers was understandable given George was on him but the Heat don't have the kind of defender that DeRozan struggles against. The Raptors are going nowhere if DeRozan and Lowry keep this up

Raps looked great.

- Said no one.

Who cares, we won. It's the playoffs. Doesn't matter how you win or how ugly you look doing it, as long as you do it.

i hope the heat always play like this. so far they have s*** the bed in both games. might be different with them back home in miami but we can beat this team if we dont beat ourselves. easier said than done with the bricklayers guild president on our roster.

I would at least give credit to the Raptors' defense, they've played pretty tight despite awful offense.

Carroll has been the Raps best player by far this series. Nice to see.

I know you posted this a while back, but it's been Jonas Valanciunas by far.

Lots of people who actually follow this team care. They look awful and are being managed even worse. Some of us actually want the franchise to progress

Yeah that was before he went into beastmode (and Carroll made that dumb play). JV has been dominant for the better part of the entire playoffs really.

Sure I'd rather everything to be running perfectly and all the plays to be ideal. It's the playoffs though. I'll take the incredibly ugly win than a loss where we play great in the post season any day, and I'll enjoy it.

Three straight Atlantic division titles, averaging 50 wins in the last three years. The second time in the second round of the playoffs. Cap space, two first round picks in the next two years, a deep bench and a team that's hanging with the 3rd seed in the conference despite the best player clearly being injured and the second best player (offensively, at least) playing like horseshit and who can be easily jettisoned after the season. And an outside chance to get Durant in the off-season, or a higher chance to get another quality player to replace him.

That's progress by my definition. When this thread started people were hoping for a tank to get the #1 seed for Wiggins. The past three seasons have been remarkably better. What would you rather see? The 76ers? Every year they challenge or set some kind of record for futility to get top draft picks and where has that gotten them so far?

They played ugly. If the series continues like this then the series have a chance but if Miami takes care of the ball. Bye bye raptors

They haven't beat a good team in the playoffs in three years either. This isn't baseball where the goal is to just get in and then anything can happen. Winning the s***** Atlantic title doesn't mean much when come playoff time the team goes no where, Miami doesn't have their best player either. The first year winning the division was great because of where the team was. They lost a tough series to a solid Nets team, that's fine. The following year was hard to watch with Casey allowing his guards to roam around the court, taking bad shots, playing no defense and they ended up getting swept by a meh team.

Now that Lowry is hurt, Casey still doesn't run plays, has his guards dribbling the clock out before taking a bad shot, especially at the end of quarters and Demar seems to care more about him needing to have an impact than the team winning, while again Casey just sits there.

If they were actually playing well and lost a second round series to a team like Atlanta in seven games, I wouldnt mind.

He can be. He won't be.

You really believe we will sign him to the max after this?

I just tend to assume the absolute worst so that I don't get disappointed

I think we(or just me?) overestimated Miami. Derozan and Lowry throws up a thousand bricks and they still manage to go to OT in both games and split one. This team might actually brick themselves into the ECF lol.

The defense was much improved yesterday. Seemed like everyone (minus Demar) was glued to their man + lots of hands in the lane, most deflections i've seen in a raptors game

Miami kind of shot the lights out though, outside of the turnovers the D wasn't particularly strong.

Doesn't really matter if we make it to the ECF, LeBron could beat the Raptors with a pick-up team around him.

Well that is not the spirit at all

If a team makes tough shots, what can you do? I liked the pressure Toronto put on them and there wasn't much easy scoring for them (I didn't see the 3rd Quarter though)
