GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Kind of hoping Chris Bosh retires. Don't want anything major to happen in the middle of a game or something. Hope he steps back and considers his health. He's already had a long successful career with money and championships.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Tobias Harris and Victor Oladipo availables Josh Robbins The potential for a Harris-for-Ilyasova/Jennings deal, first reported by @MikeAScotto, is very real, a league source said.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Was completed. And Courtney Lee to NO.

Who needs basketball when you have a sponsorship deal and a lifetime of free Xarelto?
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 What's the timeline on Carroll?
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 He is supposed to be back sometime in March
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Looks like Masai is gonna stand pat! Addressing the media 3:15.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Marc Stein just said on ESPN that Gasol and Butler are better then anybody on the Raptors. Thoughts. Lol.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 The Raptors are greater than the sum of their parts.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 First mistake was listening to anything Marc Stein says at all
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Marc Stein just said on ESPN that Gasol and Butler are better then anybody on the Raptors. Thoughts. Lol. He wouldn't be far-fetched on Butler, but no way on Gasol, as much as I like him.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 The NBA trade deadline is a joke lol. The MLB trade deadline last year had Price, Cueto, Yoenis Cespedes, Cole Hamels, Ben Zobrist, Scott Kazmir, Carlos Gomez, Tulo a couple of days prior and some other relevant names being moved.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 He wouldn't be far-fetched on Butler, but no way on Gasol, as much as I like him. Butler is probably better than Lowry, but they're in the same tier when you look at the star players. Anyone who would take Gasol over Lowry is a dumbass. Non flashy point guards never get any love. Im curious as to what NBA GM's do all year though. No minor league teams to follow, no mid season drafts to prep for. Boston had interest in Love, Cleveland wanted to move him and neither side could be bothered to actually make an offer
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Lmao, so a fake account tweeted Toronto traded for Horford and Wolstat (beat writer for Sun) retweeted it.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Sounds like with the cap going through the roof this summer, it had an impact on the deadline.

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Agreed on everything. I'd easily take DD over Gasol as well. Taking age/fit into account? Gasol is still a better player than DD.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Taking age/fit into account? Gasol is still a better player than DD. This seems lacking in correctness Pau has lower efficiency stats on a lower usage rate. Demar assists on a higher percentage of teammate baskets, while Pau rebounds more, which are both expected considering their respective positions. Demar does these things without playing in an actual, you know, offensive system. I'm pretty sure you've just taken too deep a stance on a particular player and legit refuse to think otherwise.

How about defense? That's like half the game. Gasol's defensive metrics are good while Derozan's are below avg. I'll be honest though, I haven't watched Gasol play at all this year so maybe his numbers are lying. Maybe I should have said arguably better. I'm honestly not trying to hate on derozan, he has been better this year than I've ever thought he would be but he's still not a star in my mind and I'm going to be sweating bullets when they hand him a max contract this summer. Gasol is having a good year and is a future hall of famer, it's not like I said Nick young is better than DD. And what you said about DD not playing in an offensive system is a joke right?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 They fully even out on defense. Derozan's DRtg is much better, Pau's RPM is much better, and their WS are about equal.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Pau has a better drtg (lower is better for defense). And it doesn't really matter because drtg and ws are greatly affected by the team so they shouldn't be used to compare players on different teams. Anyways, I don't really care anymore since I've resigned to the fact that he is going to be signed to the max by the raptors so I'll just drop it from now on.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Lol f*** me for posting about advanced stats at 5 AM. Concede the Drtg point. I still don't buy Pau being better though. Then again I'm still with you on Demar not being a max player.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Lol f*** me for posting about advanced stats when I don't really know what I'm talking about and just seeking to argue for reasons. Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Tonight's game is why we will not get past the first round again this year. Lost against the wolves before the break and getting spanked against the Bulls minus Noah Butler and Mirotic. Maybe I'm just a bit sour that Masai didn't make a trade. :-/
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Every time we play the Bulls some scrub torches us off the bench. Doug f***ing McDermott just happened to turn into Klay Thompson tonight.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 The Raptors haven't even played bad defense throughout, the Bulls have just been making really tough shots all night.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 The Raptors have also been swept by the Kings and a couple of other s***** teams this year, not sure why tonight's game means they're an automatic 1st round exit
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I would move Patterson into the starting lineup. Scola does not compliment JV well at all.

Scola really cost us tonight on a number of opportunities. Zero contributions on defense or on the glass, he's a bigman FFS he shouldn't have to tap the ball to another teammate when he could just grab the rebound himself.
