KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Yeah o.k. I suspected that might be the answer. The NBA draft has no depth so going with a project with upside is no big deal. It's not necessarily all that different from taking a flyer on a guy like Buelens (though it attracts way more scrutiny). I guess my next question would be... What makes Caboclo interesting? I could understand taking some giant and trying to turn him into a centre but Caboclo is s 6'9"? What makes him projectable?

He is quite athletic and I guess they feel that him being so young and getting to practice with the team they can mold him into something useful. He is only 20 still

I really don't know much about Basketball scouting but I can see how wingspan would be a big deal. Hopefully having a D League Team will allow him to develop. Coming from baseball, it's weird to wrap my head around how a basketball team goes about developing a player without the whole infrastructure they have in baseball.

Yea its very different, Wingspan isn't really a crucial element of a basketball player but it would obviously be beneficial, blocking shots, rebounds, defense, ect. I always thought the development system in basketball was absolute s*** also.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Anthony Bennet in the game..ahead of Johnson. Then commits a stupid off the ball foul less than a minute in for the turnover lol. Casey probably costs this team 5 wins a year
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 And Bennets loses the ball right under his basket, and gives up the easy And1
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Bennet then charges into Scola's man for the shooting foul
Travis_Snider Verified Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 And Bennets loses the ball right under his basket, and gives up the easy And1 That was a ******** call, sullinger mugged him

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I don't think Bennet is doing a particularly bad job. Obviously JJ should get minutes, but Scola is playing terribly.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I don't really understand how Johnson gets no time either. I dont know why he's on the team tbh. There's literally nothing he can do to get playing time, Casey's just a egotistical little man
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 If anyone wants tickets for this Sunday against the Bucks, send me a PM. Sec 320, Row 6 - $120 for the pair, so cheaper than the box office.

He's commited about 3 bad rookie mistakes in his short run so far, but he's Canadian so Rautins will continue to pimp him up. And Scola is this year's Alan Anderson, so get used to that. I think I would rather have Ned Yost manage the Jays than have Casey
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Like holy f*** Luis Scola is awful.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Luis Scola might be the worst player on our roster.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Man is there 2 blander rosters than the raptors and celtics?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Lowry is playing with terrific energy. Looks like his reshaping really did him well.
Travis_Snider Verified Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Like holy f*** Luis Scola is awful. hes on fire rn LOL
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Man is there 2 blander rosters than the raptors and celtics? Are you serious?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Are you serious? Gonna guess that he was
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Raps looked pretttttayyyyyy entertaining AND deep tonight. Just sayin'.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 They're deep in decent low upside players, which is fine I guess.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Gonna guess that he was Ok.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Yes... The Raps have an entertaining team. Sure they don't have a stud like LeBron, Curry, or AD, though its still a fun team to watch.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 They should be an entertaining team. They haven't really wowed me this year. Mainly cause Demar has 1000000% lost a step and the system Casey has them in just kills the game all around. A good, high-ball-movement coach with lots of motion with a better wing player would make this one of the more exciting teams in the NBA imo. And no, they did not look deep tonight. Their bench extends to Amir Johnson lite, Cory Joseph who's honestly just so wonderful and a great change of pace, and Terrance Ross when he's not knocking girls up (bout 35 games a year). So 7.5 players deep. That's not that deep for a team without a real superstar. It's a .500 team playing in the East, honestly. With a better system and an upgrade on Demar, they'd probably be a legit contender. Lowry/Carroll/Valanciunas/Joseph is a great core with a coach that can use them.

No I know why you really shut down the nba dynasty league. Yall were shaking in your boots over my Cousins / Drummond combo

Yall were shaking in your boots over my Cousins / Drummond combo Um, I think you mean Cousins/Porzingis combo. f***ing monster. Shut down the league cause having Kristaps was unfair for the rest of us.
