I hate GV so much. He really thinks he's steph curry out there with the amount of pull up 3s and contested drives he attempts. Gets torched off the dribble almost every defensive possession too

You mean you aren't a fan of your backup PG having 1 more FGA per game than your starting centre while playing 5 less MPG?

I wish we got Calderon back. His defense is equally as bad but at least he can efficiently run an offense.

I was actually thinking about Jose the last time they played the Knicks. Im sure there's one team out there that can use GV to anchor their tank. He's signed for 3 more years though at a heft cap hit

Not to discredit the impact DD has on this team, but most stats are obviously skewed because we had the toughest part of our schedule with him out. I don't think losing him made opponents shoot better from the free throw line lol. The thing we missed the most from him is his ability to get to the line, as well as giving Lowry some slack on offense, even if he starts to get too Kobe-ish at times.

Demar's offensive stats have been significantly skewed downward because of a handful of poor games (Dallas, Chicago, Bucks (which doesnt really count because it was a laugher)). Almost all of his other games were far above average. Even on his off shooting nights he still found a way to contribute (i.e. 11 rebounds and 10 FTA against Atlanta despite shooting 4/16)

Ross/Lou can't really contribute like this when their shots aren't falling. He's still our second best option in crunch time behind Lowry. Can't wait to get him back :)

It is entirely possible that he is my most hated player in the NBA right now. The fact he walks around with that level of swagger kills me, man.

He thinks he's so good and that he is an NBA starter that gave his team a break to come off the bench.

DeRozan says he wont play tomorrow vs Charlotte, wants to get a couple more practices in before he comes back. Could return Sat or next week

Watching Greivis Vasquez act like Kobe = justifiable rage.

Having a panic attack because a very good writer called them the "Toronto Drake's" = not justifiable rage

a. I'm not raging.

b. If you wanted to argue about the thing, you should have just argued about the thing. Saying I "get way too emotional about the dumbest stuff" was a completely unnecesary generalization and yeah that kind of cheap shot does get under my skin not to mention the whole pot calling the kettle black thing.

The thing is, Masai is in an interesting spot. We weren't supposed to be in the position we are this quickly, does he abandon his plan and try to go for it right now? Or stick with the 2-3 year plan going forward.

Should be a very interesting deadline for us to follow

I think with the nature of how the NBA works you have to go for it. Its not like the 3 other big 4 sports where there is a ton of parity year after year and luck is a huge factor in getting to the championship. In 2-3 years the Raptors could be a better basketball team than they are now but the East could also be like the West of this year and the Raps would be in a more difficult position to get deep in the playoffs. I don't think the 2 NBA Finals spots have been more wide open than this year.

The Raptors are still a very good team. I think we are all underestimating them because of the recency bias of the end of that road trip. I think Demar will help the defense even if it means just taking mins away from Lou/GV. Team needs a backup big that can offer a little rim protection though. That is one of the hardest things to acquire but I have faith that Masai will do the right thing.

Forgot to mention Ross needs to be better on the defensive end. GV/Lou are known bad defenders so you expect them to be bad defenders and give up straight line drives from time to time. Ross has all the tools to be a good defender and has shown he can be good in the past so its up to him to put his f***in big boy pants and step up. A lot of his defensive miscues are him just being lazy/losing focus.

I'm fine with this. Big Al is out so we should be able to handle them.

I think it's more of a fear of contact. It's like he has almost zero pain tolerance.

Some guys just also lack the fire to be great. He is clearly one of them. Demar has an incredible work ethic and turned himself into an allstar and Ross has barely progressed. It's not the system. It's him. Ross probably has more natural talent than Demar does.

Agree that its on him. Some of it isn't even about contract though. He just lets his guy drive straight by him without moving his feet.

Apparently Cavs are close to trading for Mozgov. Return could be a couple first round picks.

Nuggets need to tank. They have no young talent under 25 years old.

Sell high on Faried and Lawson.

That is Masai's team. He isn't a god. He's done well here but he's left that team in shambles.

How exactly did he leave the team in shambles? He made a bad move with Mcgee I think we can all agree but other than that he made some solid moves. Galinari getting hurt isn't his fault and they still have good pieces with trade value.

Eh. He's just a glorified garbage man. Most of his points come on putbacks. Do not want.

This team takes a lot of long iso shots, which fits well for a player like that, in all fairness. Contract is baaad tho.

They have 80 million committed for next year with no elite talent! They're a complete mess. Someone has to take the blame.

lol yea Faried would be great here. Another young guy, hustles, runs the court defends somewhat decently well from what I've seen. There's basically zero point in bringing in a big man who needs the ball to be effective. Not sure what difference getting points on set plays or put backs makes.

You're not getting him for expirings+ picks though

We're finally entering a period of financial flexibility. Let's not tinker with that :)

http://hoopshype.com/salaries/denver.htm Where do you get 80 million from? He also didn't sign Faried to the extension or trade away Fournier (who looks like a pretty good draft pick) I just think your blaming him for more than he had control for. The Mcgee move was obviously terrible but I really don't see another move that looks that bad.

Yeah, if he was on a more reasonable contract he'd be a great fit, but I don't think he's worth using our cap room on.

We have 27 committed for that off season, just Patterson Lowry and Derozan. Faried's 12 won't make much of an impact on signing someone. (theres rumours it's going to sky rocket up to 80-90 million anyways with the new TV deal)

Not always having to rely on Patrick Patterson to be out there for defensive purposes every night would be a nice change of pace.

Faried isn't any better than Patterson defensively. Hes a fantastic rebounder but his actual defense isn't that good. And when you think of how many drives to the rim is allowed by the likes of GV/Lou/Ross/Lowry then I don't think it is a good fit. That is why i like Amir so much for this team because he is a great help defender and offers decent rim protection.
