I don't hate Drake compared to a lot of other people but you give him wayy too much credit. I really don't see or know any people liking the Raps because of Drake...

Is there any real reason to think he is behind it? Drake isn't a designer, and he doesn't work for a design firm. And as far as I know, he isn't paid by the Raptors. It's possible they were influenced by his brand, but I doubt that they would create an alternate logo just because of him.

We had CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon come in to our class and I asked if there were any partnerships that the CFL have considered to increase attendance in Ontario and he said something like After the Raps partnership with Drake being the most successful Professional Sport marketing campaign possibly in Canadian pro sports history...

 

I'd think it's been very successful. I only went to one game last year for the Raps and I noticed that there are way more teenagers and girls than there has ever been. That would likely be the Drake effect.

They don't have their own affilate so they would be playing for some random coach. Better they develop with Raptors coaches at practices.

I think the idea is that they'd benefit more from being able to play in practices with the pros.

That is exactly it, Raps have to keep them on the bench. It delays their development somewhat but at least they can keep close track. They are so far off though that an affiliate would be priceless right about now.

The D League is a joke. It's basically a bunch of selfish bums chucking shots while not playing any defense.... There was a game the other night where one team scored 175 points...

 

Practicing with the big squad is much more beneficial than getting a few minutes in a garbage environment like the D-League.
