eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Kenneth Faried just signed for 5/60 with the Nuggets. JV gonna get paid.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Kenneth Faried just signed for 5/60 with the Nuggets. JV gonna get paid. As well as Amir Johnson. Amir is a better player than Faried and is a UFA.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Kenneth Faried just signed for 5/60 with the Nuggets. JV gonna get paid. That's an illegal contract as per the CBA, no?
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 There is talk that the cap could jump from 63M to 80+ million with the new TV deal. Kinda sucks because the Raps have positioned themselves very well with the current cap.

Amir is probably going to want 12-15 million too even though he is a FA after this season.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 lol 25 million for Derozan? Hopefully Ujiri has some sense.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 (edited) Hansbrough looks pretty comfortable shooting the three so far. Edited October 8, 2014 by jays_fever
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Hansbrough looks pretty comfortable shooting the three so far. Its been 2 shots I'd take it with a grain of salt.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 He looks comfortable shooting it, never said he was a good shooter. Amir looked like he was launching a catapult all season
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Even if he looks "comfortable" I don't want him shooting 3s. Probably won't shoot better than 30%.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Who Knows. He was just catching and releasing with a fluid release, was cool to watch. First live game of the season for me, pretty excited even if it is just pre season
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 A few observations early on: -Lowry looks to be in fantastic shape... He's clearly 100% healthy now. -Derozan's handles have noticeably improved. You can see all of his hard work with that dribbling coach during the summer paying off ( ) -Johnson and LouWill appear to be meshing in well with the offense. Very excited to see how these two progress this year. Wouldn't be surprised to see JJ start over Ross by mid-year... Lou's shots aren't dropping now but he's getting some good looks. Knee appears to be healthy. -Patterson looks fantastic. I don't think he's anywhere near his ceiling yet. Perfect stretch 4. -Defense needs some work but the offensive sets have looked really good. They look to be in mid-season form already. Great chemistry. This is clearly the deepest/best team that the Raps have ever put out there.

I know I am guilty of it myself but you can't really take any stock in the preseason. Vasquez and Lou have looked bad defensively but its only been 3 games so there's no point in drawing any conclusions from that. Also they have played 2 terrible teams.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Did anyone get NBA 2k15? It's awesome!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Apparently over 90 million in 2016. Derozan is going to want like 25 million/year. Amir is probably going to want 12-15 million too even though he is a FA after this season. Derozan won't get $25 M a year lol. As for Amir demanding $12-15 M per season, then I'd say the Raps go in a different direction at PF. I like Amir, though they could easily replace his production at a lot less. Patrick Patterson!

Derozan will easily get 25M/year if he keeps up his play. Some below average team with lots of cap space will throw $ at him to try to land a star player. Amir is pretty good value at 12M if the term isn't too high. He is really efficient and brings a lot more value than his per game stats indicate. What system do you have 2K15 for? It looks to be a pretty good game by the sound of it but I have PS3 so I wonder what the game is like on the ps3 cuz all I have heard about so far is the ps4.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-basketball/24751884/nba-experimenting-with-44-minute-game NBA experimenting with 11 min quarters. Pretty much just saying f*** you to the fans. Players are complaining about how long the season is so the league will probably say they will shorten games to protect players. This would do absolutely nothing, players would still get the same mins and all it does is cut down the time of your bench players. Ticket prices will remain the exact same and the fans are the ones getting screwed here.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I would hate that idea. Although, it's been well established that the last two minutes of a basketball game are the most entertaining by far lol.

Although, it's been well established that the last two minutes of a basketball game are the most entertaining by far lol. Yeah for sure but you can say that about the last 5 mins of every sport. I think everyone knows the NBA season is way too long but no one is going to want to give up games if it means less money.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Or they could just reduce the number of Pre season games and training camp by 2 weeks, get rid of the ridiculous 4 games in 5 nights. Like you said reducing the game by 4 minutes will just further reduce the impact the bench players make
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Thought this was pretty funny. Bryon Scott on 3 Point Attempts : When asked whether he buys into the style, Scott said: “I don’t believe it wins championships. (It) gets you to the playoffs.” Seven of the last eight NBA champions led all playoff teams in 3-point attempts and makes.
