eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I actually didn't realize how terrible Kendrick Perkins was. He was a decent bench scoring option/rebounder when he was with the Celtics but he's getting paid like he's a fringe starter now... when he clearly isn't. At teh end of his current deal he will have earned approx 55M. Yeesh
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Rumours Magic - David Lee (tons of money) Twolves - Aaron Afflalo + Warriors - Kevin Love

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 That + had better be f***ing substantial lol David Lee + Barnes + two first is the most realistic offer I've heard so far. Though Jonas, Ross + our pick next year, as well as the Knicks 2016 pick should probably be just as appealing.

An extension would have to be signed immediately.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Ray Allen is incredible. One of the GOAT jump shooters.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 The Houston Rockets reportedly are willing to trade "almost anything" for New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony. Houston is said to have offered Omer Asik, Jeremy Lin and either a first round draft pick or Terrence Jones, according to Basketball Insider's Steve Kyler. Houston is serious about their pursuit of Anthony, who can opt out of his contract and become a free agent on July 1. "Houston would trade almost anything not named Dwight Howard and James Harden to get at Anthony and they would go all in on a contract too," Kyler wrote on Tuesday. "There has been talk that Houston has offered up Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin in a 'give away' trade that could include their draft pick in the first round or a roster player like Terrence Jones to get those salaries off the books." -- Melo, Harden, and Howard That has disaster written all over it. Two ball hogs and a guy who chokes consistently in crunch time.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Houston is said to have offered Omer Asik, Jeremy Lin and either a first round draft pick or Terrence Jones, according to Basketball Insider's Steve Kyler Is this supposed to be an impressive offer? None of the players mentioned are bad by any means, but you'd think if they were so serious they'd have offered a bit more for a superstar.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Not amazing by any stretch but they could also lose him for nothing

Ya, I don't see him re-signing here. Also, don't think we are a championship calibre team next season (which we would have to be since we are giving away our future completely in that trade) Lowry DD Fields? Love Amir with Patterson, GV, Hansbrough, Novak, 2nd round pick as our bench
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Raptors are only scouting Ennis. The rest are undrafted guys. Gotta think we're shopping the pick.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 It was their first group of guys to come in. They don't scout everyone on the same day (not saying they aren't shopping the pick but you cannot make that conclusion from 1 group of prospects)
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Ya, I don't see him re-signing here. Why wouldn't he re sign here? It's a great market, great city, good team, would probably be a lock for top 4 for the next three years if he were in a raptor uniform. For whatever reason people seem to forget that both Bosh and Vince signed long term extensions here and only left after they got fed up with the incompetent management. It's hard to compete with the Miami's and Golden State's in the league in free agency but re signing our players shouldnt be an issue with this regime. That being said I still say go big or go home with Durant, next year

I think he'd be a great fit in Golden State as well and it's a easily a top 5 place to play.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Damn amaazing comeback from OKC. Refs missed a blatant goaltend there though at the end.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Durant with the huge choke job. Terrible turnover.
theblujay Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 This is the finals I wanted to see. A rematch of last year's awesome 7 game series. Hopefully the Spurs win this time, but I wouldn't mind if LeBron 3-peated to silence the doubters.

Not that LeBron has to prove anything, but the Heat got bailed out big time by that Ray Allen 3, and the Spurs' major choke-job. It's historic how bad that ended.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Who doubts Lebron's talent? He just a giant ass wipe
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Who doubts Lebron's talent? He just a giant ass wipe I do! I mean the guy has not even saved the Loney Tunes from an Alien Race...... Call when that happens.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 f***ing embarrassing. 5 K fines are joke. Suspensions should be mandatory and/or ejections from the game if the Refs catch them in the act
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 "Good news for Raptors fans in Vancouver and Montreal. Toronto will play a pre-season game in each city in October, facing the Sacramento Kings at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Oct. 5 and the New York Knicks at Bell Centre in Montreal on Oct. 24."

GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Can't find where else to put this. Adam Sandler is shooting a movie in Toronto right now. My exam had just finished and I was celebrating with a little bit of ball. Well, not 40 minutes after I get there, I'm ushered off the court in favor of people who appear to be Adam Sandler and Jonathan Loughran. They begin playing, and I totally didn't sneak a picture or anything nope not even two, and I'm just kind of playing on the other side of the gym, and then a guy I know gets there. Sandler and Loughran finish up their game, and to the chagrin of the staff, challenge me and my friend to a game of 2 on 2. Not fully comprehending what was happening, I accepted. We went up 4-0 after I crossed Sandler over and hit a couple jumpers. Then they came back to beat us 11-8. We played another game and Sandler just took over, and we lost 15-2. Sandler and Loughran are great at basketball and even nicer. It was awesome. They were extremely classy and hilarious and great pickup players. jeremym480 and 13 like this.

That movie is responsible for a lot of road closures DT, in particular around the building i work at. I remember being stunned by how stupid I thought the plot was as well. I've heard Sandler is a pretty nice guy IRL as well, even if a lot of his movies are really bad
