eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Locked up tickets for games 1 and 2. Yeaaaaa budday. If anyone is going to Game 1 and wants to meet up for a beer pre-game gimme a shout. Can't f***ing wait for this.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Not sure what the best place for us to finish is now. Indy looks like they could actually win the East.... So if we finish 4th we'll likely play a tougher opponent in the first round (BKN) but would then not have to face Miami in the 2nd. I think I'd prefer that route vs Charlotte/Miami.

The bulls lost today so we're back in 3rd with two games left and we probably hold it. Miami has Washington tomorrow though who has something to play for and has a great shot at winning. I couldnt really care who we play between the Nets/Bobcats/Wiz as I think we will beat any of them, but Id want the Pacers in the second round just because we had a decent shot at making it a competitive series.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Since the All Star break, JV has an ORTG of 120. Man has been a beast in the last 25 games
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Raps set new franchise record!! Vasquez with 25 points in DeRozan's absence. Very nice.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Washington stomped Miami to clinch first place for Indiana
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Not a big fan of playing the starters in the last few minutes of the game. Maybe keep JV and Ross on but definitely should've kept Lowry and Amir out of the game. Another good win though. Great season.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 ROFL at this snub. Guy in blue shirt. http://giant.gfycat.com/LightLameGalapagostortoise.gif

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Didn't raelize Washington leapfrogged Charlotte. This pleases me. We can beat Washington in 5 IMO. Take that big Euro-trash centre out of the game and we're good.

So if everything goes right the raptors could face Washington and Indiana.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Did you get tickets on Stubhub? I might grab a couple.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Did you get tickets on Stubhub? I might grab a couple. Was refreshing all afternoon and got two for 140 each (so technically like 155 CAD each). Stubhub is probably the best bet for a game like this... so many scammers out there on Kijiji.

They'd get way more respect if they beat BKN compared to Washington. I'm terrified of Miami. I see absolutely no way they can beat them even two times let alone four. The thing with playing BKN though is that we likely won't have the refs on our side. Conspiracy theories aside, Brooklyn will get the close calls.

We take them in 6. I want to avoid Miami at all costs, maybe we get lucky and Chicago takes them out? lol

ECJF, where are your seats? 313 Row 4 Had some email chains with a few guys on Kijiji who were willing to sell for 150 but I'm not going to wire some guy money for e-tickets. Hardtickets or Stubhub. 150ish seems to be the floor though from what I'm seeing. Just put some price alerts on the game on Stubhub. It'll send them right to your email. Yea you just know Garnett is going to get away with every illegal screen and Lowry is going to get about 2 ridiculous calls against him a game

The ambassador position has already brought renewed prestige to the team and will be an even bigger deal when MLSE opens its own nightclub in 2015. The club is rumoured to be slated for a space in the ACC currently used as a Raptors practice court, and the MLSE says Drake will be part of the operation" -From RealGM Drake trying to turn the Raps into the Showtime Lakers lol People can bash the guy but he brings a lot of positive attention to the team.

That's pretty cool. Drake can come off as a douchebag to some people but he really has put the Raptors out there whenever possible. Clearly been a positive influence so far
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 It's still annoying how every casual fan is still looking past the raptors and annoting a offensively challenged bulls team the only real threat to either of those 2. The raptors were the only top 10 OFF and DEF team in the east.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Great article: http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2014/4/16/5619434/toronto-raptors-playoffs-started-from-the-bottom Some quotes: Novak on DeRozan: "He's a guy that I think loses sleep at night over losing games and loses sleep over what direction we're going," Novak said. "I don't think everybody's like that. I think he's a guy that people don't really understand how important winning is and how much Toronto, the Raptors, mean to him. That's something he's expressed very clearly to the team is that he wants to be successful, he wants to be successful here." We really can't ask much more from DeRozan. Efficiency went up like crazy this year. Guy just works his tail off. Mid range jumper fetish? Sure. But he's still an excellent scorer and great leader. Toronto should embrace DeRozan.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 ""I'm tired of going home early, watching everybody else play, watching my friends play," swingman DeMar DeRozan said that day. "It's sickening to me. I get tired of it. Me personally, I work my ass off so we can play in that moment, be a team in that eight, seven, six, whatever spot it is to have an opportunity to play. That's my goal and I'm sure everybody on this team feels the same way."
