jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 They're just low efficiency shots. His percentages are just so much higher closer to the rim. I don't think he's lazy, he just might be a bit scared of the contact. He just doesnt have the dwayne wade level explosive/ball handling ability to get into the paint and create chaos for the opposing defense. Rather than have him force it inside, id rather just have him learn how to properly utilize a ball screen ( which he still doesnt effectively half the time) or just swing it and boost his efficiency even if it decreases his ppg
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 There you go JV! That's what we need to see. Impressive couple of minutes there.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Off night for Lowry tonight. 0 points and only 2 assists.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Lowry is just chucking tonight. Ugly
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 We rely so heavily on the long shot, when they are all sinking it's good but nights when the players are off, it's tough to watch. It's like they don't even adjust, they just keep trying.
theblujay Verified Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Ross and Lowry are off tonight, but they're getting it done so far
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 6 point game and Lowry is out with a sore knee. Um.. make that a 3 point game because of another reckless play by Vasquez.............
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Seriously, Grievis Vasquez is a huge liability. The guy is a spaz out there.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 DD and JV both get smacked in the face and no calls. lol
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Casey has a right to be pissed, what the hell is this
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 DeRozan.... clutch shooting right there wow.Very impressive effort from him here.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Thank god for DeRozan tonight, huge 3 there
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Alright, that's a huge win right there. Utah is a bad team but you take what you can get on the road. Not overly impressive but they kept their composure late.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 If we win against the kings, and lose to the clippers it will be a decent road trip.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 JV played like a man tonight. DeRozan stepped up. Big win. Now go out and do it again Wednesday.

Not overly impressive but they kept their composure late. I'd disagree, they overcame a pretty terrible performance and put their foot on the throats of Utah when it came to crunch time. Was 81-76 and we finished on a 13-3 run. Not the best performance but stepped up when it counted.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I was watching the game at the Loose Moose and having a couple of beers with Spanky. Awesome atmosphere! Go Raptors!
Caper Verified Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I always found that good teams never really look good playing awful teams... They beat them easy enough.... But always manage to play down to their level a bit.

theblujay Verified Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Solid win now now please beat Gay and the Kings
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Man the Kings are thin. Cousins is elite. Gay and Thomas have been playing great.... But they're still 2-8 in their last 10.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 There was a segment on Allen Iverson last night and it made me think of how different the Raptors Franchise would have been if Stern hadnt decided to cheat the franchise by taking away their number 1 overall pick that year. There would have been no Carter likely, no Charles Oakley. Mighty Mouse would have been traded because he wouldnt have worked with Iverson and we would have received something good for him. Probably no Bosh either

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Did you watch the VC special? I hate Babcock so much.. Not sure if I saw an official special but Ive read/heard multiple interviews of VC on his time in and reasons for leaving TO. As much as I loathed that entire front office, VC was also the one who publically declared he wanted out and refused to dunk/go to the rim hard for a good stretch just because he didnt see a reason to give it his all anymore.

You should watch the special, it really shows you a different vantage point that a lot of people didn't see. The day before the trade, he went to Sam Mitchell and said he doesn't want to be dealt but he would accept a trade if that's what the team felt was best.
Tuco Verified Member Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Nik Stauskas is really emerging as a first rounder. Crazy Canada should have 2 more top 20 picks in him and Ennis.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I've wanted Stauskas on the Raptors for years, lol. E: Holy f*** has his handle improved, that's silky. And he's got some really nice court vision. 3 point shooter who can create his own shot and pass from Canada? Ujiri pls. Who does everyone want the Raptors to take assuming they keep their late first? Mine is probably Hood/LaVine if they slip, Ennis, Stauskas, McDermott, Robinson III, Anderson. For whatever it's worth, nbadraft.net has Aaron Gordon going #21.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Wiggins with another frustrating night last night. 14 points on 4-13 shooting. The kid can't shoot and (it appears) that he doesn't have the fire to truly become elite. He's ELITE in transition and is a great athlete so he'll probably do well in the NBA where teams don't play a lot of zone... but this the extreme hype is starting to look silly now. He's so inconsistent.

Where do you think he'll end up going if everything stays about the same? Lol, that's ridiculous. The draft is all about projecting what they'll be down the road. Adam Morrison destroyed college, I guess he was the next Larry Bird right?
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
