His pitching framing does seem to be slowly improving, and he's actually paying attention to the batter making sure he's not peaking;

and those were nice blocks, but shouldn't every MLB catcher already have these skills and execute it consistently?

 

No, only the top 10 should.

Many don't seem to have the plate blocking skills (or they don't want to get run into). Pitch framing seems to be hit or miss, but may have more to do with the pitching staff's command which could explain why many catchers aren't good at it when they first come up.

McGowan's not in because its only a 4 run game and he can walk the bases loaded at any time.

 

Te why have him up here if he cannot be trusted.

What would you have them do with him?

 

 

They should have kept him in the minors longer or use him so we can see what he has. Leaving on the bench solves nothing.
