Still seemed to me AA was just making moves sporadically and looking to catch lightning in a bottle. I don't think it was the right way to go about it but I'm happy w/ the result.

And yet somehow we seem to have an awesome bullpen and a pretty decent rotation at the moment... f***ing weird...

I just updated the first post, and you can see that AA did not only a good job of somehow piecing together no-name pitchers that are doing well, but 25/27 of the players are in the Org one way or another, so he's keeping them here too

Shameless. Just shameless.

hahaha I just saw that beside my pic, I'm guessing Hurl or Admin did it :P

New winning streak starting soon

We lost Aaron Laffey and Edgar Gonzalez!? NOOOOOOO!

Wait... who the f*** is Edgar Gonzalez?

Good job? He was throwing s*** at the wall hoping some would stick. Some of those guys had no right being up here.

Astros DFA'd him when they were cutting players after ST, we claimed him, he pitched twice (had Mop-up duty to JJ's start in Detroit) and got DFA'd again, and now he's pitching for Houston's MLB bullpen

Well, if a quality organization like the Astros is running him out there, then you know he's good!

Yeah, you're right. I meant that he's done a good job passing them through waivers.....

wait they were all s*** anyways, nevermind lol

It's not like he has some sort of sneaky waivers that other teams don't know about, literally nobody else wanted those guys :P

Yeah lol I take that back, AA's still pretty bad. JPR wannabe when it comes to relief pitchers, only JPR can get the good relief pitchers that literally come out of no where

I dunno... The pen, as it stands now, is mostly AA's doing (and entirely his doing if you want to say he could have traded any of them away or whatever) and there are some good arms in there. He seems to have found the s*** that stuck, for the time being.

I feel like the Buffalo relationship had a lot to do with finding Wagner and Perez, who have stuck. No way they sign minor league deals to play in Vegas. Buffalo could be a real asset for us in more ways than prospect development.

That's how the Mets got Dickey: they signed him and a bunch of other random effective minor leaguers to please the Bisons.

create something for that and get it on urban dictionary.

Overall I think Wagner signed with the first team that gave him an offer. Coming to Toronto would be appealing to most minor league contracts as in November our team looked like a mess. He signed before the Marlins deal (although it was rumoured). Getting out of the PCL might have been motivation but the Twins were his first choice and they passed

Oh I was talking about how JPR kept finding relievers every year to do well out of nowhere back then

This is probably AA's first full year with a proper bullpen

Hilarious that you put that in your profile.

Wear it!

I didn't lol. But whatever, I'll keep it until the winning streak starts again

I think you made a mistake in the OP about Lincoln being on the 25 man.

He was optioned already? I seem to have forgotten, thanks!

JPR was never able to build as good a bullpen as what AA has put together this year.

Downs, League, Carlson, Ryan, Tallet and Wolfe all had ERAs under 3.00.

Holy s***, I remember some of these names. Brian Wolfe, I have his autograph, and Brandon League's (thanks for Morrow!). We got a sweet pick from Downs, I think. Carlson left for Boston, dunno where he is now. Ryan blew up haha. And then there were guys like David Purcey and Scott Richmond! I'm having flashbacks to the JPR days haha.

Bet they hit at least 35 before the season ends.

Schwimmer, Stroman, Luis Perez, Hutchison, Carreno, Drabek and trade acquisitions are all possible. Then throw in a surprise or two...
