Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 These are very winnable and I think if we don't win both it will be a disappointment. Looking at the pitching matchups and lineup we should come away with at least 4-3, hope 5-2 the next 7 games... (7-0 would be an epic streak) BUT, it's why they play the games. Almost every rays pitcher has an era over 5 and a high whip.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I think we should be able to take 2 out of 3 against the Rays. Tonights game may be the most telling as we have Rogers on the mound because I think we are going need to score a bunch of runs to win this game. I like how the pitching matchups have set up for this series after tonight though.
bzapple Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 It's crucial! Must-win! The season is in the balance! I'd be happy with 4-3. Even 3-4 wouldn't be too bad.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Let's sweep the Rays. Hellickson and Hernandez have been crap, and Moore is on or off. Rays offense isn't that good either, no reason we can't sweep. Man, relax bro...lol! If they take 2 of 3 from the Rays and split with the Red Sox I'd be happy.

Lol I think that if we play the way we have been I think we could sweep the series but odds are we are due for a stinker game which unfortunately happens to all teams and just the way Tampa plays they are a team that can cause stinkers. I will be happy taking 2 of 3 though.

Last I checked the Jays were still on this epic 11 game winning streak, lets just keep it going and go from there. Jays go for 12 tonight and I say it happens.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 (edited) Yep. These are big. I hope the streak goes along. But 2/3 from Tampa and 3/4 from Boston would be fantastic. The way this team is playing, that is certainly possible. Edited June 24, 2013 by G-Snarls
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Remember all those analysts and fans at the beginning of the season that said the AL West was the best Division? What a bunch of tards.
flafson Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Will Myers is probably their Chris Davis right now. We also tend to stink playing away there. But then again, who knows. If the fans from the Yankees board are happy they don't have to face us anytime soon even though they are leading us 8-1 then that speaks volumes.

Will Myers struck out 25% of the time in AAA, he isn't one of those prospects on the level of Trout or Harper.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Really? Will Myers struck out 25% of the time in AAA, he isn't one of those prospects on the level of Trout or Harper. I remember reading one of the comps for Wil Myers is Pedro Alvarez. Prodigious power but...lots of holes.

That being said if this team can keep this streak going a bit longer, everything else that follows becomes that much easier. As it stands, this team needs to play around .590 ball the rest of the way to get to 90 wins. Before the streak it was around .636 to get to 90 wins. That is fairly significant.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Id be very happy going 4-3 .... But at this point lets at least go 5-2!!

BEst thing about this streak, made the rest of the season much more doable, and they at least played themselves into a place where they can be playing meaningfull games in the second half. lets hope they don't have another awfull stretch.
DickeyJohnsonWang Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 7-0 or the season is over.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Jays should start to beating the AL East teams if they want to get the playoffs. The Rays are in last place, we must sweep them.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 3-4 against two good teams on a road trip would be fine. They put themselves in a position where they can afford to lose a road trip against quality opponents and now fall really out of it.
Wilnercibia Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Lol people were like "We need at least 1 vs the Os, 2/3 would be bonus" f*** that, keep sweeping should be the mentality 18-0
dmrich28 Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Not even half way yet, no reason to worry about it. Day by day, just can't have another under .500 month
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 That's the spirit! Rays have been floundering, Jays are hot... SWEEP! Hellickson 6.87 K/9, 39.7% GB rate and 11.3% FB/HR Vs BABIP MONSTER Jays will score +6 runs easy.
IronLadle Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 If Rogers dominates again tonight with that power sinker, then he's the real deal
bowld Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I believe we will win 2/3 in Tampa and split in Boston. 4-3 on the trip is my guess

Caper Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Jinx alert I find the best way to avoid the jinx is to just try to steamroll right through it... declare yourself victorious. over the jinx.
dmrich28 Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I don't care how they do it but they need 53 wins to get to 91, which I'd hope will win the division. With everyone beating each other up. So .602 win percentage from here on. I really don't look at wildcard since it's such a crap shoot now.

Focus on the division until it's not an option, wild card is plan b
