Notes:

 

Rockies::

  • I have made an error in reading comprehension, and they Jays are NOT 14-0 against the Rockies, but they are 8-6 against the Rockies. The home team has sweeped every series coming into this series. In the 4 previous series the Rockies are 6-0 at home, and the Jays are 6-0 at home. The record stands at 8-6 currently.
  • Michael Cuddyer's 7th innings single against Esmil Rogers pushed his hitting streak to a career high 17 games. He's hit .387 with two homers in his current streak
  • Dexter Fowler misses another game because of a hand injury suffered Thursday of last week.
  • Cargo's 5/8 (.625) against Buehrle in his career, along with Cuddyer's .318 average in 107 ABs, are the best lines against Buehrle in the Rockies lineup

 

Jays:

  • Encarnacion's 19th roundtripper puts him in the top 3 in the AL. He's on pace to break last year's career high in homers and RBIs.
  • Jays are at 2 under .500 for the first time since being 7-9, this is what a 7 game winning streak can do to a ballclub!
  • The luck is turning for Mighty Mouse! His homer last night helped bump his average to .333 in the last 8 games
  • The Jays pitching have been awesome to say the least, as they haven't given up a homer in 52 straight innings. Mark Buehrle's coming off a string of 5 straight great starts, as he owns a 1.91 ERA in that time period, leading to 4 victories for the Jays. And how about the last 6 games? The Jays pitching staff have owned just a 0.67 ERA in the past 6 games!
