Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 This so much this, it's why I find this season so frustrating.................This team was not ready in april and it really cost them, now it is going to take a massive battle to get back in contention for a WC birth. They will need to constantly be on a 7-3/6-4 type streak the rest of the way out
DH12 Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Even with the hot streak of late it would be almost impossible for them to finish at 90 or above wins.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Jays will move to 5.5 games back of the WC with this win..... A tonne of teams in there though, and still a lot of question marks in the rotation...I sound like a broken record but Dickey, Johnson and morrow have to start earning their pay cheque to really get serious.

No doubt. It's still a big uphill battle, just pointing out that they are not that far out. The second WC may not need 90 wins. 87-88 wins might do it.

DH12 Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 A win today and that is 8/10. This is the run folks, just need to keep it going a bit longer. They will need to play like this for many many games. That's how terrible the start hurt this team
jaysfaithful8 Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 They will need to play like this for many many games. That's how terrible the start hurt this team It all comes down to their starting pitching. If they can get some consistent starts, they have a solid shot.

Theres only Texas and the Yanks tied for the second wild card, with the Rays behind them. The Indians and Royals wont win above 85 games this year and thats being generous. Only have to count the number of teams once its getting down to the wire, the number of games back is the important factor
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 They will need to play like this for many many games. That's how terrible the start hurt this team We all realize this team is a big long shot, but your a real downer.
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 And Tampa gets Boston this week--with no Buchholz(injury) and no Moore(significant regression) pitching. Good chance for us to gain ground on Boston. In addition, the Sox get Detroit next weekend.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 We all realize this team is a big long shot, but your a real downer. Haha yes, its not out of reach, this team has talent to go on a run like the A's or other teams have. Will it happen? Don't know, all depends on pitching, so far pitching has been the biggest disappointment, except this series.
DH12 Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Jays will need Lind to start doing something if they are to win more games

BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 McGuinness has looked pretty overmatched in this series.
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 And of course we'll need to see if Baltimore can keep up their success.. their pitching doesn't scream contender unless their ownership actually spends some money/prospects for upgrades at the deadline. And Boston--despite their offense, an injury to Buchholz could be derailing to their success. Lester is regressing badly--back to his 2012 self. Their rotation is mediocre after Buchholz with Lester struggling(although Lackey's been OK.. but not getting any support). And that bullpen is due to regress sooner or later.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I think if the jays are close AA will be willing to make another move...Call me crazy but this season is far from over yet.

Don't bet on Boston backing up they have a solid team

Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 This Perez guy sucks Not sure if serious?
DH12 Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 lol omg derosa, great job you tool THis is why you shouldn't get too excited about this team, they have a good chance to go on a 4 game losing streak. THey can't even get a 2 out inning finished
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Boston needs someone to step up in their rotation--losing Buchholz could really hurt. And Baltimore's pitching is 2nd worst in the game, only ahead of the Houston Astros. They can't expect their offense to carry them forever.

digiblader Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Shut up! How about cheering the Jays for once.
