DH12 Verified Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 He should be but won't. If he does that I bet its career suicide for him. He has to get something out of this and I really think he is aggressive this winter and makes a few bold moves to shore this team up. If that fails, then yeah, blow it up and find a new GM. Not sure if Rogers will let him spend the money after this years disaster

DH12 Verified Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Maybe it will encourage him to not be a dumbf***... If they were only a few players away from being a contender I would say yes but they look like they need more than a few extra players
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Funny you mention that, Fangraphs made an article with a bunch of .gifs of Davis' home runs where it's like he's shooing a fly away. #powerfordaysbro I'll see if I can find that article. Thanks.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Not sure if Rogers will let him spend the money after this years disaster Beeston will be on the last year of his deal, I bet he puts up a big case for added funds. If this team gets back to respectability, then they may very well have a case to make. Not advocating this, just thinking about it from AA's perspective.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I firmly believe AA will shop some players but not guys we can't replace from the system . Guys that are free agents . Shop but doesn't mean he pulls the trigger . Johnson, Raja Davis , Izturis/ Bonifacio , Oliver and maybe even Wang if He gains value in the next month and a half. Not saying we can replace pitchers like JJ but WTF we aren't winning with him and he is a free agent , Gose can replace Raja and Oliver isn't needed anymore .
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 This is one fast f***ing game. MB style....
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 3 more outs "Blue Jays 22-0 when leading after 7 innings"
theblujay Verified Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Just checking the score, nice game so far! Lind is still hot and HRs from the two all or nothings. But it's all the starting pitching. Buehrle getting it done.

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Another DP! Makes such a difference... lol
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 3 more outs "Blue Jays 22-0 when leading after 7 innings" If the Jays lose this, I think you should be banned for jinxing.....
Cello Verified Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Grimm 85 pitches, 59 strikes Buehrle 100 pitches, 64 strikes Another solid performance by our starter!

He certainly will shop those guys, I am referring more to guys that are under contract next year and beyond. If he can net us some assets for expiring contracts it will go a long way to helping our farm after he decimates it in the winter.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 So, do people give JPA credit for all those pitches off the plate being called strikes tonight?
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 That will be the most of it Ken, no doubt. They have a 3 year window on their plan. Nice turn by the D there. The thing is, this group is close, we just need some more durable pieces. This team is fragile as s*** and it sucks knowing that they could perform if guys could stay healthy.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Another great start for Buehrle!
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Another great start for Buehrle! Buehrle is the rock in the rotation.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Could Buehrle pitch our first CGS in ever?

They will have to finish at least .500 probably a lot more than that in order to justify being close to a winner. Don't see it happening.

That could change and this team could finsally gel and be competetive . If that is the case Rogers may MAY add some funds but I don't see huge increases. Still I believe AA was asked by Rogers to spend and get competative
