P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Is Chris Davis an anomaly this year? He's always had the power but his line is just redonkulous! He's been insanely good, bro. The walks are way up and the strikeouts have been cut down significantly so far this season. There's no way he hits this well the rest of the way (too many Ks), but I bet his numbers are still pretty beastly by season's end. FWIW, my keyboard is broken, so I'm using the virtual Windows 8 one lol, so pardon my shorter replies.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Team has talent just no frigging rotation .. That could change and this team could finsally gel and be competetive . If that is the case Rogers may MAY add some funds but I don't see huge increases. Still I believe AA was asked by Rogers to spend and get competative It either came from Beeston or Rogers, in either case, I still believe Rogers will spend. I think people really undervalue what a contender means for Rogers.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 well, you're an idiot and no-one cares what you think ya stunned f***. lol

He was pretty valuable last year, if he keeps his K rate below 26% there's no reason to think he can't continue to hit at a level between his 2012 year and now.

I probably see 20 jays hats a day and I still here people talking about last night's game every day.
DH12 Verified Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 With the exception of Beurhle the rotation is a disaster. Major $$$ need to be spent there
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Jose Fernandez is damn good 7IP, 2ER, 10 K's against SL
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Is it wrong to think that one of Hutchison or Drabek can still be a decent 5th starter next year?
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Is it wrong to think that one of Hutchison or Drabek can still be a decent 5th starter next year? Hutch can... Drabek is garbage.

People can say I am crazy, but I bet I am right on this. This team is a huge marketing asset for Rogers.
DH12 Verified Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Is it wrong to think that one of Hutchison or Drabek can still be a decent 5th starter next year? 5th? considering how bad the rotation is they would be higher than that.

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Hutch is better than a 5th, imo. If rogers does go for it again next year, I'd feel more comfortable with Hutch as a 5th.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 We've already spoke about this to a great extent, if they finish strong and keep getting the good gate, that extra 25 million looks sweet also...I agree. That extra money is chump change to Rogers. They will easily cough that up if they believe the Jays can bring in more advertising revenue for them which seems likely.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Yeah man.........the buzz is back. We need a very good finish, next year could be sick. Fingers and toes crossed. Only if they get rid of JPA...

Major rebuild or spend a lot more.. I'm ok with both (rather spend)

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I feel like a terrible person laughing at that lady.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Yeah, this goes for a lot of clubs though. It's hard to stay healthy but it's just crazy with us. Or at least it seems that way. It has been two years of DL absolutely crazy . You have to believe some things will turn around but next year we should have rotation depth with Hutch and Drabek . just have to replace JJ and have someone ready for Morrow's yearly DL stays . pray Dickey gets his 80 mph knuckler back and Rogers continues to improve and get lucky .
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Didn't Beeston once say they can get the payroll up to 150 mil? They'll probably get it up there this offseason. I think they can and possibly will. I don't believe this team truly has a cap because of who owns them and what value they bring to them. This isn't just a simple ownership, this team is owned by a company that uses them to market their products, owns the networks that they gain advertising revenue from during their games, owns the dome, etc, etc... The money is there if it can be justified and winning isn't necessarily the only thing that will justify spending. More money will mean more publicity.

DH12 Verified Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Only if they get rid of JPA... Have they won a road series yes this year? they may get a split this series. Think I'll wait a bit until I say the buzz is back.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I wish.....I don't see it happening but than again everyone and there sister is talking about how bad he is lately. Who knows? Would be another epic fail if they spend more money on this team this offseason but still have JPA has the starting catcher. AA can't be that retarded...
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Rogers easily has the money for a 200mil team... we will never see that but it's true.

I probably see 20 jays hats a day and I still here people talking about last night's game every day. Me too. It wasn't too many years ago that I could go days without seeing Jays merch (I'm in K-W). Now I see hats and shirts all the time, a younger crowd at the games, and it seems the Jays are just much more in the forefront of the sports consciousness than they used to be.
