backontop Verified Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 You know being only 6 games below .500 is pretty good when yours truely thought by mid June we would be 15 below. We have tried at least three times to get there but in all three times we were sent back to the dump,EIGHT BELOW .500. Time is running out but it still is early. Imagine only being 6 games below .500, then we win 3 or 4 in a row and are challenging Tampa and Baltimore for third place Johnson is back and playing for a big contract ditto with Lind, (Zauns superstar) (we sent him down to the minors last year, any team could have picked him up, but nobody wanted him,) funny how he plays great when his work ethic is so good just months before a new contract. and Zaun says he is a star! I'm TIRED of watching Rasmus and JPA strike out, bring up the 230 average Gose, he is a game changer, and let Thole do most of the catching the rest of the season. With Morrow and Reyes coming back, we could make things interesting.)

backontop Verified Member Posted June 14, 2013 Author Posted June 14, 2013 North of 49, If we win Friday night, (remember there is still some talent on this team) We will be only 6 games below .500. We can do it, and for a team that is in first place (Texas) they look soorier then us.
backontop Verified Member Posted June 14, 2013 Author Posted June 14, 2013 Nixon, we don't care about your impotent problems!
OtisNixonFan Verified Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Nixon, we don't care about your impotent problems! Please, feel free to work the impotence out of me. It was a s*** post, like it or lump it, thems the breaks.

Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Otis Nixon, Don't know what we could have done without your intelligent comment. How immature can you get! Your post was a bit rambling and hard to follow the individual points. Could of called it "my plan to get to .500 and beyond", then mentioned 6 games below .500 is a milestone in your mind, and followed (in point form) with suggestions for further improvement (like Gose and Thole). I would say reading it took about 10 seconds longer then it would if it was organized a bit better... but I got your main point, and did not think it was such an inconvenience that I felt the need to compare your post to sensitive human anatomy.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 You can't create them all Muz, give others a chance So this "Muz" thing is your new shtick now, eh?
Wilnercibia Verified Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I see. We should win tonight if Dickey doesn't s*** the bed again. I'm in on the 'the season is over' train, but it's been overstated some. We're only eight games back of the Wild Card with everyone getting healthy again. Dickey and JJ need to step up, if they can maybe we still have a chance. Dickey doesn't pitch tonight.. THANK GOD
Wilnercibia Verified Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 We should be able to take each game of this series, if our big 3 wake the f*** up.. Rogers just pitched a Gem, I don't want to see 5-6 innings 5 earned runs anymore from these guys... MB, Dickey and Johnson. Time for these underachievers that are being payed big bucks to come through..

When Dickey, JJ, Morrow and Buehrle start to performing to his capacity the things could/will be better.

dmrich28 Verified Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Honestly why do people care so much about getting to .500? If they were 47-47 at the break, they'd have to go around 41-27 for the rest of the year to realistically have a shot at any kind of playoffs. We all know they don't have the starting pitching as is stands to do that. I'm just hoping for some descent baseball to be played with no expectations and looking forward to next year and just writing this year off as a mistake.
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 And the Yankees are imploding--did you see that 18 inning game? That was some of the worst baseball the Yanks have played in some time. Youk's a bust, Vernon has regressed back to Angels numbers, Overbay has regressed, Hafner has regressed-- the only guys hitting are Gardner and Cano(when not facing lefties). Don't be fooled by their 6-4 record in their last 10--that was against Seattle and Cleveland, two bad teams. Yankees have tough teams ahead--Angels(with no Blanton scheduled thankfully), Dodgers, Rays, Rangers and Orioles.

Don't be fooled by a 6-4 record in last 10, judge them on how they played in one 18-inning loss? Haaaa. Pretty sure my cat is more capable of logical thought. Edited June 14, 2013 by jb22

digiblader Verified Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 You sure? Yankees fans apparently are ready to jump off the bandwagon--some of the posters on the LoHud Yankees site were saying that the Yankees should sell--as the team is not going to get better, even when A-Rod and Jeter come back. Playing Seattle and Cleveland is one thing---but being unable to beat contending teams like Boston, Oakland,Baltimore and they couldn't even beat the Mets recently! I bet they get swept vs. L.A.(both AL and NL).. these Yankees are not a good team right now.

People who aren't paying any attention keep telling me that all the ex-Jays on the Yankees are doing amazingly this year! I mean, if I don't pay attention to numbers and just follow my gut, I assume that Wells, Overbay and Nix are all having great years, so they must be!

digiblader Verified Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 All those ex-Jays are stinking again--see these numbers: Overbay .245/.288/.448, 8HR, 29RBIs(most came early in the season) Wells .229/.274/.386, 10 HR, 26RBIs (same.. and his average has plunged since mid-May by about 70 points. So bad, they just called up Thomas Neal) Nix .249/.313/.299, 1 HR, 17 RBIs (only SS option they have--Brignac can't hit and AAA is bone dry) Ben Francisco (DFAd and released) And other former players brought to the Yankees: Youkilis .219/.305/.343 2 HR 8RBIs (and has been awful since his return from the DL) Hafner .220/.332/.440 10 HR 29 RBIs. The only player with even decent RBI numbers is Robinson Cano with 16 HR and 42 RBIs, .282/.354/.521. None of the Yankees even have a OPS of .900, and just two regulars over .800 (Cano, Gardner). Granderson won't be back until after the All-Star break.
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Did I also forget to mention Wells hasn't hit a HR in a month?

Imo they are absolutely right. If the Yankees can stock up on a few high end prospects, they can always fill other positions in FA as they always do. You have to think Cano would bring in at least a top end prospect at the deadline if the Yankees are willing to pay the rest of his salary. Granderson should bring in someone pretty good as well if he's healthy. Hughes and especially Kuroda as well. They could theoretically stock up on talent AND re-sign all 4 if they wanted to.
