Old school team might have been attracted to JPA when the SLG% was there. I didnt mind him when he slg'd .500 but thats all done. Doubt team wants him. But as good news to everyone here, i dont think he will be in Jays future without the slg

I think you were trying to troll.. but really it's not a bad idea. Moving Janssen to a contending team that's willing to pay for it may be a really good idea.

 

I'd hate to give up Jannsen, but I imagine he would have pretty good value to a contender (he's consistent, good, cheap, etc). Plus we have some potential bullpen arms to replace him in Delabar, John Stilson and potentially Marcus Stroman someday. I guess it depends on what we get back. Detroit doesn't really have anything I want other than Castellanos and Garcia.

We'd need to rebuild some of his value first I would think. I can see Seattle being interested in him even with Seager already at 3rd. You know how they love those BC boys for marketing purposes (Saunders, O'Neill, Gillies before they traded him).

I love talking trades, back when I was a kid there was no free agency so the only way players traded uniforms was trades, it was much more exciting then, but still exciting. I'd trade Jose for that great second baseman in a heart beat. Jose is overrated. You have me stumped on the Josh Johnson trade, but lets keep our fingers crossed and hope the first draft pick for him will be good. Johnson has done nothing for us this year, and he thinks some GM will be dumb enough to give him a bigger contract then Jus. Verlander!

I do have to say that Ethier would be the perfect platoon-mate for Lind and that Buehrle is really old and sorta bad. The Jays really need Buehre's innings right now though so no chance this happens.

Phillies wouldn't trade a seasoned vet like Buehrle. The Amaro Jr way is more like Gose for Eithier.

No way AA moves Buehrle. While most of us would probably want to rid us of his contract, Buehrle is the only guy who hasn't gone down this season and as sad as it is, right now is probably the best pitcher in the rotation. AA will look to patch this s*** up for 2014.

Ethier's numbers are incredibly weird. He's hit almost twice as many career home runs at home as away (which considering where he plays ...), and aside from this season hits lefties fairly well at home but can't touch them away.

Was just going to comment that he's exactly the same player as Lind lol. Terrible defender, can't hit lefties, ~20 HR power with one breakout season. We have no use for Ethier.

I'm not prepared to handle an Ethier acquisition. He's owed $70 million over the next 4 seasons (age-32-35) and will struggle to be even league-average. I hate that there's no doubt in my mind that AA is interested in that PRODUKSHON.

 

Whether he's interested in the production or not, there's no place to play him atm. If that trade actually happened, there'd have to be something else in the works too, or either Bautista or Edwin would have to move to 3rd long term. So let's assume that the other rumour (Profar for Bautista) was the second half of that. What would be your opinion then?

What work would find that not safe? Also... I wouldn't MIND Etiher, but cash would have to come back, or some prospects...
