IronLadle Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 He was concussed last year. Plus, I'd think most of the difference between the 1.5 and .07 is sketchy defensive metrics as his offense was pretty damn good for a catcher both those years. Not to mention he has had to catch Dickey for most of his career. His weighted average last year was .257, I'd still bring him up - but he'll likely struggle at the plate and offer mediocre defense.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I really hope we retain Sanchez. I bet AA deals him this winter.

He's kicking ass in AAA this year, 147 wRC+.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I bet AA deals him this winter. Aaron Sanchez for Luke Hochevar. Book it.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Aaron Sanchez for Luke Hochevar. Book it. You're a joke bro; we have Rogers that is the same s***. Aaron Sanchez for Bruce Chen

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Aaron Sanchez for Luke Hochevar. Book it. Rasmus for Luke Hochevar. Similar to the Travis Snider/Brad Lincoln deal last summer. AA will say Rasmus just wasn't figuring out here and that Hochevar was a former 1st overall pick and has pitched excellent out of the bullpen and gives them a power arm who they control for the next three years etc.. lol
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Probably slightly more viable but I think TDA could very well provide value this year. And TDA >>> Thole in the next 3 years (most likely). 3 year window or whatever ********. "Most likely"????? I agree with you there. In that Thole is only 26 and could still surprise. D'Arnaud is 24 only 2 years younger, but more of a power record. There is always the possibility that Thole could have a better career then D'Arnaud. Catchers develop late sometimes. It is much more likely that D'arnaud is better. I commend you for wording things in such a way that leaves some uncertainty. Rarely seen on this board. There is a chance someone will bash your head in for this. IE "Are you a moron?? Scouts love D'arnaud and he projects as a 20 homer a year guy. A potential 2nd tier all star. Thole has no power and will be lucky to hit .250. Thole has allready failed at the mlb level and player never come back from something like that. Give your head a shake. There was a reason the Mets just threw Thole in."
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 KLaw chat Craziest rumor you are hearing right now? Klaw Nothing I haven't posted - Dominic Smith to Colorado was one, Phil Bickford to Toronto or Seattle was another. Bickford is an odd one, because some scouts adore him, and others want no part of him because he doesn't have a present average breaking ball.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Jay (London) See anyone using a similar strategy to Blue Jays' last year? Over slot early and WAY under late Klaw (2:04 PM) Bunch of teams will. The new system makes that a very appealing strategy.
