Caper Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 The funny thing is, he must of had 20 or so counts where he had 3 balls.
Caper Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Is he actually too stupid to spell "air"? You make a good case against JPA... But going after someone for spelling mistakes, either on a message board or twitter is kinda pathetic.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 It was funny when Dirk commented on this before the game. "One month ago today, JPA had a walk".
Caper Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 LoL yea thats me. That's pretty awesome.
fireballW Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Ridiculous. Thole would be so much better... he is at least close to an MLB quality starting catcher.
Tuco Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 You make a good case against JPA... But going after someone for spelling mistakes, either on a message board or twitter is kinda pathetic. Ya maybe if someone is ragging on someone for gramatical things but common.........Guy cant even spell "air"? Like I've seen some brutal spelling of some words but are as air??? This guy needs to go. It's encouraging that the media is starting to call him out for his brutal play lately.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 LOL that's the JonnB guy who posts here. That's the only thing JPA has been able to block in quite some time.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 that's the only thing jpa has been able to block in quite some time. zing!
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 That's the only thing JPA has been able to block in quite some time. Wilner has blocked more people on twitter than Jpa has blocked baseballs this season, but JPA is the problem behind both. Wilner is just sick of defending JPA so he'll block rather than defense the indefensible.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 JPA's refusal to take constructive criticism to improve his game suggests to me that he lacks TWTW. Hawk would be so disappointed.
DustyBaker Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 You guys are too hard on him, he's clearly biding his time for the perfect walk. One game out of the wild card, Bottom 9, bases loaded, full count - takes his third walk of the year to drive in the winning run. The guys a hero and you'll all see his true genius.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 26 PA's this season with 3 balls. 2 walks, .125 average. He is 1 for 21 with 1 BB with a full count. These numbers are mindblowing bad.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 LOL that's the JonnB guy who posts here. That's just awesome

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 http://robpettapiece.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/jpa_hurt_3.png If I walk too many times, I'd have to take my glove off to count them and I'd look stupid... let me see, I've got uh....1... uh...2...uhhhh
JugglingPitches Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Well, if anything can justify his not taking any walks, it's a Bible verse. If he sucked this much but he was humble, I might actually support the guy. But he honestly in his heart of hearts believes he is the greatest thing on earth and can do no wrong...I'm almost disappointed when he gets a hit because I WANT to see this guy fail. Takes a LOT to get me to hate a player THAT much on my own team. Pathetic. This guy needs to be getting booed when he comes to the plate.

kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 In 399 plate appearances last season, Bautista had 59 walks. That's one more than Arencibia has had in his entire MLB career, spanning 1058 plate appearances.
baseballsss Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 thou shalt not have any god before the HR! he should start praying to god to hit and catch better apparently its god who gives dem miracles out.

Kelly Johnson, though, had 62 walks, which is 3 more than JPA has had in his career.
Dude Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 JP's a strike out machine http://www.masonicinfo.com/images/beat_dead_horse.gif I kid off course. If Gibbons post game comments last night were any indication of JP's near future, it's that he's here to stay.

What I found interesting about Johnson's season last year was that his walk rate was right in line with his career mean.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 What I found interesting about Johnson's season last year was that his walk rate was right in line with his career mean. He was playing injured too so it really wasn't that bad a season by any means, and I think I'd rather his last year at 2B than Maicer and Boni lol. Ike Davis also outwalked Arencibia's career last year, and so did Ricky Weeks, and David DeJesus.
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I'm interested to see who has a worse walk rate at the end of the season: Arencibia or Salvador Perez. Perez's walk rate has dropped from 4.4% in 2011 to 3.9% in 2012 to 2.0% this season. Unlike Arencibia, however, he actually can hit for average, so his OBP isn't horrendous.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 J.P. Arencibia had a 7.4 BB% in 2011. What the f*** happened?
