fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 (edited) All I can think about is the damn strike calls to Cabrera.... f*** the ump Oh and do you guys think I should stick to PGTs? Or trash them and stick to GDTs? Scoring Plays: Top of the 2nd: Rays score (Rays lead 1-0): Luke Scott hits a soft dribbler to Lawrie, Scott is out at first but Longoria scores Rays score (Rays lead 2-0): Kelly Johnson hits a solo jack to center Top of the 3rd: Rays score (Rays lead 3-0): Desmond Jennings hits a solo homer on the first pitch of the inning from Ortiz Rays score (Rays lead 4-0): Luke Scott and Evan Longoria team up for another run, Scott drives Longoria in with an RBI single Bottom of the 5th: Jays score (Rays lead 4-1): Rasmus smacks a solo homer to right field! Bottom of the 8th: Jays score (Rays lead 4-2): Bautista singles to right field, Kawazaki scores Bottom of the 9th: Jays score (Rays lead 4-3): Rasmus scores on a wild pitch by Rodney while Kawazaki was at the plate Box Scores: http://i.imgur.com/ZeeXu6O.png http://i.imgur.com/hnS78QP.png Edited May 22, 2013 by fatcowxlive
Flashman Verified Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 There's no use in blaming the umpire. The Jays should not have started Ortiz, and Arencibia should not have been batting fifth. If the Jays optimised their chance of winning and then the ump cost them the game, that would be a different story. As things stand, the Jays continue to self-sabotage.

I think the forum would stay less cluttered if theres a designated post game thread as opposed to 2-3 threads of similar topic post game, especially after an eventful game. I'm not even mad about the final strike call. The fact we continue to run out JP and hes such a brutal player is more annoying.
bzapple Verified Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Gotta keep the PGTs, they're my favourite threads to post in. Although you're slipping a bit on the editing; one of your scoring plays is from yesterday's game, and you misspelled Kawasaki. Missed most of this game but it looks like I jinxed Ramon Ortiz with this avatar. Or maybe he's just terrible. Could be either one
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Has Ortiz been DFA'd yet? I'd preferred it if AA got F'D
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I'd preferred it if AA got F'D This can be easily misinterpreted.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 This can be easily misinterpreted. Not to be vulgar, but some would say Beinfest and Alderson already did
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I vote no PGT. Not to be vulgar, but some would say Beinfest and Alderson already did This was half hilarious, half scarring.

Could be either one Yeah I know, I am really sorry these days, I haven't been on my A-game, really tired these past few days for some reason and I've been clumsy, hopefully I can turn if around soon! . Oh and thanks for your input!
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 Fatcow - to answer your question: I despise these threads, as they needlessly break up good conversation in GDTs. You should make a poll. Sure, I wanted to for this thread but I posted the thread prematurely and I couldn't delete it or add a poll on it so I guess that's for tomorrow. But I think Admin will get final say in this, but thank you BTS and Dougie for your inputs
Flashman Verified Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Another vote for the continuation of the PGT.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 Another vote for the continuation of the PGT. Thanks! Tomorrow I'll be doing an official poll, but so far in this 'mock vote' its tied at 2-2 (bzapple + Flashman vs. BTS + Dougie) Ya man these post game threads are good Nevermind! It's 3-2 for the continuation of the PGT! Thanks for your input!

AA has said several times that Bonifacio was the key to the miami deal, that the whole deal hinged on him, do we know which side insisted that he be included??? lol how bad does a switch hitter need to be to get DeRosa pinch hitting for him? JP and Lawrie are in idiot mode at the plate. both tards are taking hero cuts all night long. there is no thought behind them. bases loaded and JPA hacks at a borderline low ball like there is not tomorrow. if that's the pitch he's pigeon holing, god help us, if he wasn't pigeon holing anything and just "feeling the force" there is nothing that can help us. almost every other team has a backup catcher that is better than JPA
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Ya man these post game threads are good they are either flame outs of celebrations. there is no middle ground, kind of like the jays offense... all or nothing.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 At least the division deficit didn't get bigger as the yankees and red sox lost....trying to amuse myself.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I'm more of a glass is cracked kind of guy. Oh, I was being sarcastic, this team is just not good enough, believing otherwise is setting oneself up for big headaches.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Does AA DFA the bow or the lo viste when Reyes gets back? I love Kawa's at bats, I do wonder if he could turn on a Mark Buehrle or Ortiz fastball though

I love Kawa's at bats, I do wonder if he could turn on a Mark Buehrle or Ortiz fastball though AA will fight everything before getting rid of Bonifiasco. he has staked his career on him by his comments about the miami trade and his evaluations post trade of him. he'd have to eat buckets of crow if he turned around and traded the guy the miami deal hinged on.

Yeah, I know, retarded, just retarded.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 AA is an idiot, knows nothing about baseball, is a good salesman... that's about it.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 AA is an idiot, knows nothing about baseball, is a good salesman... that's about it. he might be selling used cars this time next year.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Highly unlikely. he better figure things out soon. it's not like he's gonna get another job in baseball after this gig, unless he wants to go back to the mail room. I know he'll use the injuries as an excuse this year, but that is only a small part of the story and he cant ride that horse forever
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 he probably has until mid season next year to get things fixed. it will be interesting to see what players he unloads at the deadline.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 A lot of teams would probably hire AA as a scout if he was interested in taking such a job. Many failed GMs have turned into scouts. when he openly admits he knows nothing about scouting except gut feelings? lol I'm sure the jays would love a guy like that as a scout, oh wait. lol
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 It's funny how AA has fallen out of the good graces of Toronto fans. Similar to what happened to Bryan Colangelo with the Raptors. At first he good do no wrong, and now everyone is calling for his head. I guess people get tested when they are forced to make decsions. It seems like its been awhile since AA made a good decision. Colangelo has a boner for bulk shooters the same way AA likes power guys who swing and miss. maybe they're dating since they have so much in common?
deadlee Verified Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Keep the PGT!!! (Can I vote with both hands, if that helps!) Man, I hate losses....they affect my mood so much.. especially after games that we could/should have had... and after those fails in the 7th and 8th... the 9th Strike Job was tough to swallow.... and as a result I didn't go to the gym... and now I have excess energy and frustration... If i turn morbidly obese, I will hold the jays liable in the court of law!!!!
