Yeah ok there with the Matt Smoral as a bust lmfao. Kid is 6'8" and just coming into his own. If it wasn't for the walks, he would've almost been unhittable last year after coming off a year where he had a 7.0+ ERA. Nobody talks about him...not even ranked in the teams top 15 according to mlb.com

I dont know if he'll be a top shelf starter due to a lack of an above average third pitch, but he could make for a very good reliever in the Andrew Miller mold.

(I am hoping Borucki clicks this year. The further away from injuries the more hopeful I get. I've always liked Burns. I am glad he looked good in ST. I think he uses that as a catalyst. While I agree that it's way too early to lump Harris in the bust column we can't ignore that he slipped in the draft. I know there are plenty of examples of guys that slip and then turn into great pros, but at the very least it should raise an eyebrow as to why it is that so many teams passed on him.

Can we reinforce what the difference between new legit and sleeper is? New Legit = ranked on prospect lists (or mentioned), whereas sleeper guys will quietly put up good stats but not really get noticed by the media?

New legit = will jump big either into league top 100 lists, or the team's top ~5 rankings. Can currently be in the top 10 if you think they will jump into 100 list considerations. Can even jump to MLB. Basically, achieves blue chip prospect status.

 

Sleeper = currently outside team top 15 or 20, will jump into team top 10. Or jump into an MLB role (ex. Girodo)

 

Really it's just sleeper and deep sleeper.

New blue-chipper: None seem likely. Tellez and SRF seem like the guys to pick but they are already pretty legit and highly regarded in certain circles. Pentecost could always revive his career and skyrocket. I pick those three.

I don't get the Urena bust train.

 

Guy just turned 20 and already has 128 PA in High A. Had good power in A ball as a 19 year old (15 HR in 400 PA, .172 ISO). ZiPS thinks he's already a replacement level player. BB rates don't matter much in the low minors, and he has an okay K rate for age/level. He hit more homers than Tellez did last year.
