Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Stay in school kids or else you end up like this faggot awaiting my return in six months. In those 6 months he will have added over 6000 posts to his total..and I would have added 1..again...get a life you guys are pathetic.. Can you please assess my life based on my post count? I'm not sure if I'm a loser or not and would like some certainty in my life.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Yeah ok there with the Matt Smoral as a bust lmfao. Kid is 6'8" and just coming into his own. If it wasn't for the walks, he would've almost been unhittable last year after coming off a year where he had a 7.0+ ERA. Nobody talks about him...not even ranked in the teams top 15 according to mlb.com Said everyone ever about every elite stuff no control prospect.

Nobody talks about him...not even ranked in the teams top 15 according to mlb.com I dont know if he'll be a top shelf starter due to a lack of an above average third pitch, but he could make for a very good reliever in the Andrew Miller mold. and you want to talk s*** about my picks...I can talk just as much with yours you joke. Loooool
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Legit: Perdomo Sleeper: Hansel Rodriguez Bust: Pentecost
crazy47larry Verified Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 NEW LEGIT GUY: Ryan Borucki NEW LEGIT GUY Runner Up: Andy Burns (I am hoping Borucki clicks this year. The further away from injuries the more hopeful I get. I've always liked Burns. I am glad he looked good in ST. I think he uses that as a catalyst. I dunno if he can turn into our version of Matt Duffy (SF) but I'd like to think he could do something like it.) SLEEPER: Hansel Rodriguez SLEEPER Runner Up: Kelyn Jose (I really love Hansel. I thought about putting him as a Legit Guy but Borucki & Burns fit better there. He's got -it- though. Same thing with Kelyn Jose just not as confident. These two really sound like good ones for the future. Could jump a lot.) BUST: Jon Harris BUST Runner Up: Max Pentecost (I figured a true bust had to come from the top 8-9 guys because the tier drop after them is huge. These 2 just stood out the most.)
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I don't get the Harris bust picks. How many pro games does he have under his belt? A lot of pitchers struggled in their first pro season and turned out OK.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I don't get the Harris bust picks. How many pro games does he have under his belt? A lot of pitchers struggled in their first pro season and turned out OK. Same.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 New legit guy: Reid-Foley, Jansen Sleeper: Espada, Wise, Thomas Bust: Harris, Urena
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I don't get the Harris bust picks. How many pro games does he have under his belt? A lot of pitchers struggled in their first pro season and turned out OK. While I agree that it's way too early to lump Harris in the bust column we can't ignore that he slipped in the draft. I know there are plenty of examples of guys that slip and then turn into great pros, but at the very least it should raise an eyebrow as to why it is that so many teams passed on him.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 New legit: Urena, Jansen, Guerrero Sleeper: Espada, Borucki, Perdomo Bust: Harris, Pentecost
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Can we reinforce what the difference between new legit and sleeper is? New Legit = ranked on prospect lists (or mentioned), whereas sleeper guys will quietly put up good stats but not really get noticed by the media?
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 New legit = will jump big either into league top 100 lists, or the team's top ~5 rankings. Can currently be in the top 10 if you think they will jump into 100 list considerations. Can even jump to MLB. Basically, achieves blue chip prospect status. Sleeper = currently outside team top 15 or 20, will jump into team top 10. Or jump into an MLB role (ex. Girodo) Really it's just sleeper and deep sleeper.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 New blue-chipper: None seem likely. Tellez and SRF seem like the guys to pick but they are already pretty legit and highly regarded in certain circles. Pentecost could always revive his career and skyrocket. I pick those three. Sleepers: Robson and Burns Busts: Urena
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Not a fan of Dan Jansen? Meh. Jays catching prospects all turn to dust. I'm over it.

Laika Community Moderator Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Unless we trade them yes, dust or into the ether
Cyborg Verified Member Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 I don't get the Urena bust train. Guy just turned 20 and already has 128 PA in High A. Had good power in A ball as a 19 year old (15 HR in 400 PA, .172 ISO). ZiPS thinks he's already a replacement level player. BB rates don't matter much in the low minors, and he has an okay K rate for age/level. He hit more homers than Tellez did last year.
