GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 No, but seriously, who wouldn't want this guy?

CHRIS Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 If I were a GM, Rauch would probably be the last guy I would want to invite into my office to try and politely explain why he was being DFAed.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 No, but seriously, who wouldn't want this guy? Ill admit - I'd rather NOT have to fight him
Dude Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 (edited) Ill admit - I'd rather NOT have to fight him Farrell suffered a dislocated jaw while attempting to restrain pitcher Jon Rauch from going after umpire Alfonso Marquez, during a game on July 2, 2011. Or have to restrain him from fighting someone else. Edited May 19, 2013 by Dude
mitchf Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I'll never understand front offices overreacting to 15 innings of s*** luck. Lol so true. He's pretty much on a completely different level (statistically) compared to his Jays go around.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Rauch has a 4.23 xFIP, he's only getting unlucky to an extent.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 That's basically what you expect from Jon Rauch though. His career xFIP is 4.36. DFA'ing a guy more or less pitching to his career means is dumn. As a FO, you can't look at ERA over 15 innings. A career 4.36 xFIP guy probably isn't really worth a roster spot in relief anyways, though, so I don't see what the big deal is. The Marlins shouldn't do that, but the Marlins do not care about your puny "sabermetrics" and "good points" and "winning teams." They care about crushing the of dreams and stepping on the souls of Miami-Dade county tax payers.

At least than I could say that I was paying my taxes and getting something out of it.
