Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 If we could get 5 innings from him and have a lead, that would be a good thing, even if he gives up 4-5 runs. *facepalm*

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2013 Author Posted May 10, 2013 No problem. Also, if you want to get rid of something, the historical batter/pitcher matchups don't mean anything (despite what Buck and Tabby lead us all to believe). So you could take that out and not lose any signal. Alright, that works!
Doc Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I'm expecting a full blowout tonight, might set a new record for MLB.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Indians (Kluber over Scherezer) and Jays in a 5 inning parlay paying 8.27-1. $72.70 in profit on lockdown.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 If we somehow manage to win this game, in boston, with ortiz pitching, then this team will win the world series lol.

digiblader Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Let's see them actually play first..besides, there are worse options--look at Phillip Humber in Houston! Or tonight's Angels starter, Barry Enright.

I actually like the historical matchups (although they're easy to look up), plus since the coaching staff definitely seems to reference them it's kind of useful in figuring out some of the moves and lineups.

declan_44 Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 OMG, Fenway is such a f***ing band box it is hilarious to see its dimensions! Still, a nice park to visit (Except when your drunk buddy says out loud during the US anthem "This is f***ing gay", genuinely scared of all the people screaming at us after that).
DwightDM Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Going to watch the Mooseheads win the QMJHL tonight. MacKinnon and Drouin FTW. Have fun, that sounds a hell of a lot better than watching Ramon Ortiz (the 40 year old version) pitch at Fenway! Drouin's been lights out this year, fun to watch.
JaysZee Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I actually have a feeling we will score 35-40 runs this series, and sweep. Dont know why, just a strong feeling i have

Dont know why, just a strong feeling i have While I don't think this will happen, seen a lot of unexpected things happen in sports over the years, you never know. God knows this team needs it.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Crazier things have happened. I think we could score 35-40 runs and still lose lol.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Stretched out for mop up duty? I don't see the point saving him for the late innings in blowout losses ala two nights ago. Mop-up duty != spot start. You don't even make sense bro.

digiblader Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Humber has an 8.82 ERA and a 1.89 WHIP. Barry Enright already has a 2.00 WHIP in the majors in 2013 and a 9.61 ERA in AAA.
Doc Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 The question needs to be asked. Why should us the fans care when the players don't. You win as a team and lose as a team, and so far they've shown they don't care.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Hanging out in Toronto tonight, then off to Boston in the morning Pizza and wings incoming to hotel room, going to watch this Jays game and leafs. Not bad. Should have made plans to go out but damn... Life is too crazy lately.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Noooooooobody caaaaaaaaares. Holy s*** you have over 1K posts?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Reason? I gave part of the reason after I said that. We know our coaching staff uses historical matchups when making lineups and pitching changes, so it helps us understand the reasons why certain moves were made (we don't have to agree with them, but it's nice to understand why). I also personally think that some guys just see the ball well off certain pitchers. I don't think the numbers can be completely disregarded, it's just tough to sort out what should be ignored and what might have merit because of the sample size.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I agree with Zaun, play Lind everyday, he has shown signs of hitting well. See what he has if not trade him, seems like the jays like ruining players not trying to develop them.
