The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I think they should start him out as a starter in A+. Give him a few starts there and if he's good bring him up to AA for starts and let him finish the season out there.
mitchf Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I remember reading he'll be stretched out, but I would totally welcome him in our bullpen since it looks like Santos will never be seen from again.

Why waste him as a reliever though? If he can start he should start. Having him in the bullpen this year would be a waste since we aren't going anywhere. Ideally we should stretch him out down there, then bring him up here and start him in the pen with eventually moving him into the rotation. Kinda along the lines of what the STL Cards do with their youngsters.

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Just throw him in the Major League rotation... who gives a f*** he can't be worse than Romero right?

TO1 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Stretch him out and stop trying to rush every high ceiling prospect they have. He isn't going to make much of a difference at the ML level this year anyways, so what's the point?

What's going on with Santos anyways, wasn't the injury just minor? I haven't heard anything on him.

All of the reports were that he's probably the most MLB ready guy from the 2012 draft. Stretch him out and aim for a September call up.

Hemingways007 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Mstrooooo! I remember them saying last year during the draft that he might have had the best arm in the entire draft, and that it is only his hight that is really holding him back. But like Marcus says, hight doesn't measure heart!

Hey, Reyes may be back earlier than expected, as may Perez/Hutch/Drabek.
