I was at the Norris vs Nola start today. Will post thoughts tomorrow but long story short Norris was insanely good.

A Norris with control could be an insanely good boost to our rotation. Hope he gets it all together soon.

2016

Stroman

Hutch

Osuna

Norris

and whoever they add at the deadline this year

I would think so, 9 to 1 so to bb ratio. Not many fly balls. How did his fastball command look?

I'll do my best to summarize it without giving too much away since I was gonna write it up for Breaking Blue.

Radar gun was probably a few MPH low. Had Norris sitting 87-90 max 93 and Nola sitting 88-91 max 92 or 93, so you can probably bump those up a few ticks each since those are way low for both of them. Fastball was going where he wanted it to go and had good late movement. Curveball had a ton of break, it was looking really really impressive today. Best pitch was his changeup. He was mixing speeds really well and showing a lot of confidence in his offspeed pitches.

Most encouraging part of the night easily; he had at least 20, if not closer to 30, swinging strikes in 90 pitches. It was ridiculous. EVERYTHING was a whiff. I don't know how he got teed up on so much when every other pitch was a whiff. Had at least 6 swinging strikeouts. Just SO MANY WHIFFS.

Nola looked really good too. Might be in line for a callup soon. Will write tomorrow afternoon.

Two months ago Hoffman would've been on that list. Maybe even Castro.

Yeah the only locks for that list is Stroman and if Hutch gets through the season healthy.

Are you sure you were at the Bisons game and not at the Trop? I was certain you're one of the kids in the below picture:

Are you stupid? None of those kids are Jewish.

I don't look at people's ethnicity or race. And to answer your question, yes I'm stupid.

I'm sure the gun at Cola field is off. Watched Norris pitch a couple of times and he was lucky to break 90, so I sat behind some scouts who had their own guns and they were at least 2-3 mph faster.

Maybe not, but that dude on the lower right is definitely the dude that played Heimdall in the Thor movies...

Former #Lugnuts Chase De Jong, Anthony Alford, and Rowdy Tellez have been to promoted to @DunedinBlueJays. Congrats!

Pretty excited to see Alford with a clean slate in A+. Wipe away all of those weird, exciting, confusing BB%, K%, and BABIP numbers, and let us see where he really is as a hitter.

Hit some dingerz, Tony.

Pompey with a HR for NH. Nice to see him hitting for power even if the BB/K aren't great. With Pillar playing solid CF there isn't much of a need when Saunders comes back so no need to rush him.

Good start by SRF 4.1 IP 6K's, just 2 BB

He's had a pretty impressive season despite walking 7.20 per 9

well you can live with it for now, given the extreme K rate and the home run suppression, just 1 in 230 batters faced. Looking at Aaron Sanchez's season in the MWL when he was 19 the numbers are actually close to identical, similar K to BB ratio, Reid-Foley is walking more and striking out more. And the higher K rate makes me think SRF is less smoke and mirrors than Sanchez was, his offspeed stuff must be working given the crazy high K rate, i don't think he's overwhelming guys with his fastball like Sanchez did at that level.
